How to start the coolant
Experts recommend that if you do not know how to work with gas equipment, then it is better not to try to start freon with your own hands. The service department will eliminate all problems and carry out refueling. You can remain as an observer.
But if you still decide to act independently, then: stick to the rules.
It is important to turn off the refrigerator first. Do not turn on, when replacing freon, heaters and do not smoke
Work at home must be performed in an isolated room with grounded equipment. Pay close attention to solder joints. The room, after filling the substance, ventilate well.

Refrigerator repair
Equipment
You can fill the refrigerator with your own hands, only with the right actions. If you want to save on a master, do everything yourself, rent equipment. Masters do not advise buying, because the investment will not pay off.
To refuel, without equipment such as:
- collector and pressure gauges;
- hoses and valves;
- gas cylinder, nothing will work.
To carry out such an operation at home, decide on the type of gas substance. Look at the surface of the compressor, the numbers are displayed there.
Instruction
The following video will instruct in detail on the correct implementation refrigerator freon refills with your own hands.
- Before starting work in the refrigerator compressor, it is necessary to close two taps. Connect two hoses in turn, according to the colors, to the equipment. The blue hose connects to the filling tube. Yellow - with a cylinder where freon is located.
- Check the pressure by soldering the fitting to the discharge line. The fitting connects to the red hose.
- Open the blue faucet. Open the cylinder gradually so that the amount of freon during refueling evenly fills the supercharger.
- Alternate compressor on/off for 30/40 seconds. Continuing to fill, connect the vacuum pump with a yellow sleeve.
- Turn off the pump with an interval of 10 minutes and connect the hose to the gas container.

Filling the refrigerator
Try to be clear. The compressor should not have air left, but only the presence of the required amount of freon.
Pressure test
After refueling, turn on the unit and determine the correct system pressure.
Remember that when:
- hot capillary tubes and filters;
- return tube covered with frost, it will become clear that you have somewhat exaggerated the dose of freon.
Strain him. Turn on the unit, let it run for five to ten minutes, and then check the tubes. Normally, the tube can freeze up to 10 cm, where there is an exit from the refrigerator body.
If everything is in order, then the filling is considered complete. The tubes are pinched, disconnected and soldered.

Freon pressure check
As you can see, you can fill the refrigerator with freon at home. But proceed carefully and be sure to follow all the techniques to protect yourself and the equipment. Also, calculate how much money you will need to spend on repairs.
If you find it difficult to fill freon gas with your own hands, then contact the service. The masters have the necessary equipment and examining the refrigerator, they will say how much the work will cost. They will quickly fill the required amount, and it will work like new.
Cost savings compared to calling a wizard
Knowing the need for materials and equipment, it is easy to calculate how profitable do-it-yourself refueling of the air conditioner is. We take the cost of rent on the Internet resources of companies offering this service in the Moscow region:
- vacuum pump + manifold with hoses - 700 rubles. per day (12.5 c.u.);
- a complete set, including a gas cylinder, a manometric station and a pump, from 1000 rubles per day (18 USD);
- the most expensive type of freon - R410a - 650 rubles. for 0.6 kg (12 c.u.).
Let's take into account a more expensive option - renting equipment plus buying freon: 700 + 650 = 1350 rubles. (24.5 c.u.). The minimum cost of refueling split systems, declared by various companies, is 2000 rubles. (35 USD). The benefit from independent refueling work is not too great - 650 rubles. or 10.5 at. e.

Consider a number of conflicting factors:
- To rent equipment and fixtures, you need to spend personal time.
- The prices indicated on the Internet may be underestimated in order to attract customers, or simply outdated.
- Often, the company charges additional expenses for the trip or bills for each work separately - vacuuming, diagnostics and refueling.
- There is a possibility that "cheap" craftsmen will do the work of poor quality and after a year the freon will disappear again.
- The cost of renting electronic scales is not included. It is allowed to use desktop kitchen scales designed to measure mass up to 20 kg with a display accuracy of up to 1 gram.
Types of freon for refueling air conditioners
Freons are often present in household refrigeration appliances - they can be used both in an air conditioner and in a refrigerator. Therefore, there are a lot of types of this refrigerant. In stores you can find the following types of freons:
R-22. The simplest in composition and common gas cooler. It is used to refuel both obsolete and modern air conditioners. The main advantage of R-22 is the low cost of this gas. It can be used for ordinary home air conditioner of small capacity.
R-410. Freon obtained by mixing two types of gas.This freon can be used at high pressure, which has a positive effect on the power of the air conditioner. According to experts, it also allows you to save energy consumption during the operation of the air conditioner.
It is also important that R-410 does not destroy the ozone layer and is environmentally friendly, unlike the previous cooler sample.
R-407C. The composition of this refrigerant consists of a whole mixture of freon gases: R-32, R-125 and R-134a. This refrigerant fills a large and branched air conditioning station in large rooms or entire buildings.
Its main difference is that this gas is not isotropic, therefore, when leaking, light compounds evaporate, leaving a residue. Such freon can only be filled with an empty and cleaned compartment of the cooling system; it is not suitable for refueling.

Such freon can only be filled with an empty and cleaned compartment of the cooling system; it is not suitable for refueling.
Thus, refueling a conventional air conditioner at home can be done on your own. To do this, you just need to purchase the necessary tools and check the instructions for the device well. If you doubt your abilities, you can invite the master and consult with him about the best way to refuel and the composition of freon. Then the future, you will be able to independently conduct split system maintenance and it will work well for a long time.
Working principle of car cooler
It is impossible to properly service the air conditioner of a car without knowing its structure and principle of operation. The climate control system includes the following elements and assemblies:
- external heat exchanger (condenser) installed next to the radiator of the engine cooling system;
- internal heat exchanger (evaporator) mounted in the cabin air duct;
- the fins of both heat exchangers are forcibly blown by fans;
- the compressor, which creates the necessary freon pressure in the circuit, is driven by a belt drive from the crankshaft;
- expansion valve, gas dryer;
- connecting freon lines made of copper tubes.
To properly fill the car's air conditioner, you need to imagine the operating cycle of the air conditioner:
- Being in a liquid state, the refrigerant is supplied to the evaporator, through which the fan drives hot air. Freon evaporates, takes heat from the flow and goes further - to the compressor.
- Inside the blower, the gas is compressed and moved to an external heat exchanger. The boiling point of a substance under pressure rises, so the freon in the external radiator condenses and gives off the accumulated heat to the outside air.
- After flowing through the dryer and expansion valve, the refrigerant pressure drops again. The gas again moves to the internal heat exchanger to evaporate and go through the cycle again.

Ways to fill the air conditioner with freon
connecting the pressure gauge to the outdoor unit
There are several basic methods for charging refrigeration systems with freon, applied to home air conditioners (splits), multi-splits, mobile and multi-zone systems.
Refueling the air conditioner with your own hands will require the following set:
- manometer;
- Vacuum pump;
- freon bottle;
- building scales;
- locksmith tools - Swedish key, hexagons, screwdriver.
Refueling by weight
construction filling scales
If it is necessary to charge a completely empty air conditioner 22 or 410 with gas, the process is as follows.
Vacuuming. They wind the pressure gauge on the shredders and open the tap on it. Turn on the vacuum pump and hold for 10 minutes. Close the valve on the pressure gauge and turn off the pump.
Freon tank connection. The gas container is turned upside down and placed on a scale, the indicators of which are previously reset to zero. Open the valve on the pressure gauge and pour in the required amount of refrigerant by weight.
The valve is closed and the pressure gauge is disconnected, after which the caps on the ports are screwed on. Turn on the air conditioner and check its functionality.
This method is considered the most correct, but it is complicated by the need to have expensive scales for weighing freon.
If you want to fill the air conditioner 410 with freon yourself, then first completely bleed its residues into the manometric station for collection, and then pour in the gas according to the scales. This is due to the fact that this type of freon consists of a mixture of various gases with varying degrees of volatility. If one of the components leaks in a larger volume, the composition changes, and, consequently, the necessary properties of the refrigerant are lost.
If you need to fill the air conditioner with R22 freon, then they resort to such a method as filling the air conditioner by pressure.
Filling by pressure
First you need to connect a pressure gauge to the gas port of the cooling air conditioner. The working pressure of the device should be 3-3.5 atm. If it is below these marks, then refueling is required. To do this, connect a cylinder with freon and begin to fill it in small portions into the system by opening the taps on the pressure gauge for 5-10 seconds.
In order not to burn your hands with gas, it is more convenient to use quick-release connections.
Refueling for overheating and subcooling
non-contact infrared thermometer for climate technology
A fairly accurate method is to fill the air conditioner for overheating or hypothermia. The whole point is to focus on the temperature difference.
In the case of subcooling, this refers to the ratio of the temperature indicators of the liquid and condensation at the same pressure. You can determine the condensing temperature as follows: its pressure is measured with a pressure gauge, and then the data is correlated with the scale values \u200b\u200bof the manometric manifold, depending on the refrigerant. To determine overheating, the temperature values of the gas are compared in the normal state and when it boils under conditions of the same pressure.
A refrigerant leak and the need to top it up are indicated by overheating above and subcooling below normal.
A non-professional is unlikely to be able to charge the air conditioner with their own hands using these two methods, since they require a sufficient knowledge base in the field of air conditioning systems. Although the ease and accessibility of previous methods for a simple layman is also a moot point.
Charging the air conditioner by current
clamp meter
Many craftsmen do not use this method, but its use is fully justified in cases where it is not possible to use scales to weigh freon. So how to fill the air conditioner yourself by current?
To determine the operating current of the compressor, you will need special current clamps that are superimposed on the phase of the power wire of the operating external unit. If the values obtained are lower than those indicated in the manual or on the nameplate, and the pipe is frozen, then refuel with freon until the indicators are equal.
All other stages completely coincide with the stages of refueling the air conditioner with freon by weight, which can be viewed in the video at the end of the article.
This method is also applicable in the case of eliminating the consequences of leakage in semi-industrial equipment.
Freon leak - how serious is it?
A coolant leak detected in time, turning off the air conditioner will help to avoid serious damage, financial costs for repairs. But the consequences of untimely diagnosis of a malfunction can be serious, up to replacing the entire system. What happens if a freon leak lasts a long time unnoticed:
- Overheating of the compressor of the external unit of the split system. It is cooled by freon. Due to insufficient amount of coolant, it will constantly heat up, which will lead to breakage and failure. It is likely that the expensive compressor will have to be replaced.
- Overheating of the compressor will lead to the breakdown of blocks, assemblies that are directly connected with it.
- Together with freon, oil circulates through the cooling system to lubricate the compressor. When a leak forms, it exits through the hole, thereby damaging the condenser.Compressor parts are not properly lubricated.
- Moisture is likely to enter the system through the leak hole.
The result is a repair with a possible replacement of the compressor or the entire system. To avoid large unforeseen costs, it is necessary to use the equipment correctly, carefully monitor its condition, and carry out planned maintenance.
Step-by-step instructions for refueling the air conditioner with your own hands (+2 videos)
How to fill the air conditioner with your own hands:
-
Open the window and inspect the outdoor unit. You need to find a casing on the side, under which 2 hoses go.
-
We unscrew the screws holding the casing, under which 2 tubes enter, and remove it. One pipe - the refrigerant in the gaseous state is supplied to the outdoor unit. Through the second tube, liquid refrigerant is discharged from the outdoor unit.
-
We drain the old refrigerant into the atmosphere - through the spool of the service port or through an unscrewed tube. Be sure to drain the freon slowly so as not to drain the oil. For replacement at home by an inexperienced person - the most acceptable option: you are unlikely to be able to correctly calculate the balance for refueling.
-
We connect the left (blue) hose of the manometric station to the spool.
-
Check that the manifold valves are closed.
-
We connect the middle (yellow) hose of the manometric station to the fitting of the vacuum pump.
-
We open the low pressure valve and follow the readings: it is necessary that the pressure gauge shows -1 bar.
-
Open the service ports.
-
We vacuum the circuit for 20 minutes.When the pressure drops to -1 bar, we wait another 20-30 minutes: will the arrow rise back to 0? If so, then there is a leak somewhere in the circuit. It must be found and eliminated, otherwise the charged refrigerant will leak again.
-
If no leaks are found, 30 minutes after evacuation, disconnect the station's yellow hose from the pump and connect it to a freon cylinder.
-
Close the left manifold valve.
-
We put the freon cylinder on the scales and remember how much it weighs now.
-
Open the valve on the bottle.
-
For 1 second we open and then close the right valve at the manometric station - to blow through the rods (so that there is no air left in the hose that enters the circuit).
-
Open the left (blue) tap at the station. After that, freon will begin to flow from the cylinder into the air conditioner circuit. The weight of the balloon will begin to decrease. We follow until it drops to the desired mark (that is, until as much gas is filled into the circuit as needed for your model), and we turn off the blue tap.
-
We close both taps on the block, disconnect the station and check how the air conditioner works.
Some nuances when filling the system with freon
For each device, the pressure in it will always have different parameters. This indicator is influenced by many factors. First of all, this is the brand of equipment and the temperature outside.
For example, the device is charged with 22 refrigerants (freon), the air temperature is 20 degrees, the pressure in the air conditioner will correspond to a value of 4.5 bar, but at + 15 degrees, and 410 freon in the split system, the pressure will reach 6.5 bar.
Therefore, be sure to study the data that the manufacturer usually provides in the device's passport. Also, this information can be indicated on the metal nameplate, which is mounted on the block located outside.
Usually air conditioners do not require frequent refueling. Most often, during normal operation, freon charged at the manufacturer is enough for several years of intensive operation of the device. But sometimes the breakdown of the device leads to the fact that it is necessary to perform certain types of work. Repair and refueling can be performed not only by specialists, but also by you, unless of course we are talking about the fact that the board or wiring burned out.
Be sure to take into account the fact that refueling into the refrigerant device is carried out only through the ports located on the outdoor unit. And in multi-split systems, there are usually several such ports.
If you are going to charge the air conditioner using a scale, then in order to make no mistake with the desired value, experts recommend completely removing freon from the device and refilling the required amount, which is indicated in the device's passport or on the metal nameplate.
There is also a not very common method of refueling by temperature. Refueling a split system with your own hands in this way is more difficult than refueling by weight, but it is quite doable. With a sufficient amount of gas in the split system, the temperature at the fan of the block located inside should correspond to 8 degrees, a deviation of 1-2 degrees is allowed. But for some air conditioners, the minimum temperature is 5 degrees. This is due to the high-quality compressor of the device. All data must be specified in the passport of the air conditioner.
Remember the most important rule when cleaning and refueling the system, the cooling mode is always turned on first. Then start the device. And only after that you can turn on another mode - heating. If you mix it up and do the opposite, you will flood the compressor.
Tips & Tricks
When refueling the air conditioner with your own hands, you need to be guided by the recommendations. This applies not only to the selection of freon, but the whole process.

- The reference point is made exclusively on the brand of freon specified in the instructions. As a rule, this is R410a. Sometimes there are R 22 or R 134a. If you come across R 12, then you should not take it, since such a brand is obsolete.
- Depending on the brand of freon, a manometric manifold is selected. Its hoses are configured to work only with a specific type of gas. This is due to the fact that the refrigerant contains mineral and synthetic oils.
- The amount of freon is taken with a margin. It is necessary for purging hoses and filling lines over 3 m. The standard weight is 1 kg.
- During operation, it is required to take time to search for freon leaks. If found, fix them.
- Operate the valves in the sequence shown.
- Do not ignore the hose purge step. Do not allow oxygen and moisture to enter the system.
- Be sure to tighten the cylinder valve before disconnecting the hoses.
Freon leak signs
refueling by weight
First of all, the master must know what are the signs of a refrigerant leak. In the operation of the air conditioner, the following features may alert:
- no cold air blowing;
- emergency shutdown, sometimes going into error code mode;
- freezing of the heat exchanger of the indoor unit;
- freezing of the liquid port (multi-split systems may have several of them);
- "uneven" operation of the compressor;
- excessive vibration of the outdoor unit.
All these signs may indicate a lack of working gas and require a call from the service technician.
If someone is interested in refueling a domestic air conditioner with their own hands, then you need to remember the risks of completely ruining the equipment. This is also problematic from the point of view of the availability of working tools. Moreover, each type of refrigerant has its own characteristics, in connection with which not all charging methods are suitable in one case or another.
How to identify a refrigerant leak
foamy liquid for detecting refrigerant leaks
Before starting refueling, you need to check the device for gas leaks. This is done in the following way:
- a pressure gauge is connected to the ports of the outdoor unit;
- a nitrogen cylinder is connected to it through a high pressure reducer;
- pump in 30 atm;
- check with a special foamy liquid for leakage at the joints of both blocks;
- if there are solder joints on the track, then they are also tested.
Next, they move on to the main process, which can be performed using one of the methods below.
How to find out how much freon should be in a split system?
Currently, there are several types of freon or refrigerant. In the system, this gaseous substance is not only a working element of air conditioning, but also a kind of lubricant for the compressor, which is in any installation.
Any split installation consists of two blocks. One is always installed outside the room, and the other inside it.From one compartment to another there is a cold main, through which freon directly circulates, as well as an electric cable and a drainage system. For wiring the route for freon, only tubes of small diameter in diameter, made of copper, are used.
The amount of freon in a split system directly depends on the length of the route for a given gaseous substance, as well as on the power consumption of the compressor. For example, a standard route for an air conditioner is up to 5 meters long. Even if you purchase a new system, then by increasing the length of the freon pipeline, you will also have to refuel it into the system itself. That is why there is no unambiguous value for all systems, which could guide them when they are refueled or fully refueled.
Directly at the manufacturer's factory, the installation itself is usually filled taking into account the available length of the route. It is worth noting that in air conditioning systems, the length of copper pipelines is not less than 3 meters.
Thus, it turns out that for every meter of copper track at the plant, 0.15 kg of refrigerant is charged into the system. Plus, the power indicator of the built-in compressor is added to this mass. If we take the parameters in the general ratio, it turns out that a powerful installation has about 0.5 kg of freon in it.
Naturally, over time, freon gradually evaporates in each installation. This process is accelerated if errors were made during the installation of the system and the joints of the pipelines, or rather their connection, was performed poorly, and the gas gradually evaporated through the gaps left. Of course, in these cases, before engaging in a new refueling or refueling, it is necessary to eliminate all existing flaws in the system.
The amount of freon to refuel
About how much refrigerant needs to be charged into the installation and how much freon is there - these data are usually indicated by the manufacturer. They are indicated on a metal plate, and the plate itself or in other words the nameplate is always located on the inner case of the split system. Refueling of the air conditioner is carried out taking into account the indicators indicated there.
The amount of gaseous substance that needs to be topped up in the air conditioner is usually calculated using a device such as a pressure gauge. Using it, determine the value of the pressure in the cooling circuit.

How to find out about an insufficient amount of freon
Every owner should know how to find out that there is not enough refrigerant in the system, this will help to refuel in time. The following factors usually indicate this:
- The air conditioner has become much weaker to cool the air in the room, even if it works at maximum mode.
- The unit completely stopped cooling the air in the room.
- Frost appeared at the junctions of the cold pipes and valves, which is visible to the naked eye.
These are the most basic facts that directly indicate that the installation does not have enough refrigerant. Before you begin to determine the amount of refrigerant in the air conditioner for refueling or full charging yourself, you need to find out what kind of gaseous substance was charged into it. Currently, several types of freon of different brands are used for split systems.
The very first air conditioners and indoor air conditioning systems were charged with R-22 freon.At the same time, the freon pressure in the air conditioner at an outdoor temperature of up to 30 degrees is 4.5 bar. Subsequently, scientists found that this gas has a very negative effect on the ozone layer of the earth. In addition, with a sharp drop in temperature, a system with such a refrigerant became very inefficient in operation.
In the future, new models of air conditioners and installations began to be filled with more modern refrigerants, which, moreover, were completely safe in operation and did not aggravate the state of the ozone layer of the atmosphere in any way. So, today you are unlikely to find at least one installation operating on this gaseous substance.
Of course, service companies know many nuances and various factors that should be considered when filling the system with freon. But if you plan to do this work on your own, then their experience and knowledge will certainly come in handy.
Refueling split system
All air conditioning systems are divided into three types: window, mobile and split systems. If the refueling of the first two was described in detail above, then the question arises: how to refuel the split system?
Filling a split system is carried out in the same sequence as filling other types of air conditioning systems, with only a few differences:
- The outdoor and indoor units are charged separately.
- The mass of freon in the external block is higher than in the internal one.
- The first is to refuel the outdoor unit
- When charging the outdoor unit, do not turn on the air conditioner for cooling.
How often and in what cases should the air conditioner be charged?
You need to charge the air conditioner in such cases:
-
After installing or reinstalling to a new location.
-
After repair, if freon lines were turned off in the process.
-
If there is a leak in the circuit. Almost always, you have to top up the air conditioner due to a leak.
-
Every 2 years (the frequency is approximate, if the system is installed correctly, then it can be less often). On average, for 1 year of operation, about 8% of the freon volume is lost.
You can understand that the time has come for a replacement - you can by the quality of the device.
The signs of a leak are:
-
frost appears on the outdoor unit;
-
the room cools (or heats up) more slowly than before (at about the same outside temperature); the air conditioner works longer (or without interruptions at all), and it has to be loaded harder;
-
the inverter model can often turn off and show a fault code;
-
when the air conditioner is running, an unpleasant smell (not dust) appears.
Split systems
It is impossible to accurately determine the refueling time, as it depends on the quality of installation, as well as the quality of the air conditioner itself.
It is better to focus on signs indicating a lack of freon.
But in any case, it is better to check the presence of freon in the system at least once every two years.
It is convenient to do this in combination with cleaning the air conditioner, that is, to carry out service maintenance.
Mobile and window air conditioners
These types of air conditioners are assembled in a single housing and all connections are inside and made in the factory by soldering.
These air conditioners rarely require refilling. But their peculiarity is that it will not work to refuel them - it is necessary to completely refill the entire system.
You will need to refuel the air conditioner after some types of repairs:
- compressor replacement
- four-way valve replacement
- filling port replacement
- after damage to heat exchangers - condenser or evaporator
- after damage to freon tubes
Detailed instructions for refueling the air conditioner
For self-refueling of climatic equipment, it is necessary to use some devices:
- digital scales;
- Digital thermometer;
- Manometric manifold;
- A set of hex keys.
A two- or four-position manifold may be used. A two-position manifold is used for evacuating and refueling climate equipment, however, in this case, the additional equipment hose is reconnected, as a result of which an air plug is created, which must be released by opening the liquid valve located on the manifold.
When using a four-position manifold, these steps will not have to be performed. This device has a completely sealed system, in which there is no contact with air.
- Before starting work, it is necessary to open the locks that are located in the service fittings of the air conditioner - this will allow the freon remaining in it to be released from the device.
- When the gas is completely out of the equipment, the locks are closed.
Now you are offered information on how the air conditioning equipment is charged with freon using the overheating indicator method. Overheating is an indicator of the difference between the temperature of superheated steam and the boiling point of freon. The superheated steam temperature is measured with an electronic thermometer (the device must be turned on). The boiling point reading of the gas is indicated by the low pressure gauge located on the manifold.

How to fill the air conditioner or split system?
The normal indicator of the difference between these temperatures should be between 5 and 8 ° C. If the difference exceeds 8 ° C, it is necessary to fill the split system with freon, the amount of which is insufficient.
- To fill the system, a cylinder filled with freon is installed on the scales.
- Then the scales are set to "zero", after which the valve on the cylinder is opened, and, at the same time, for only one second, the liquid valve on the manifold is slightly opened, releasing excess air that is in the hoses.
- Then the gas valve located on the manifold opens. During the period when refueling is performed, there is an increase in pressure in the system, and a drop in temperature on the thermometer.
- These actions are performed until the difference between the readings of the pressure gauge and thermometer, which are located on the gas pipe of the split system, reaches 5 - 8 ° C.
- The final step is to close the gas valve on the manifold, and then the valve on the freon cylinder is closed. By looking at the scales, you will know how much gas was needed to fill the system.
Checking the operation of the equipment is carried out by connecting the device to the trunk. With insufficient filling with freon, the taps freeze over (this is the main indicator). If this does not happen, then you have refueled the climate equipment correctly.
The most common problem that home air conditioner owners face is refrigerant leakage. Questions immediately arise: how to recognize a leak in time, how to fill a household air conditioner, who to contact?
Freon types

Today there are several types of refrigerants:
- R-22. Freon, which was originally used in the very first air conditioning units. Its cost is quite low.Currently, it is suitable for refueling air conditioners of early years of production and modern appliances. The disadvantage of this substance is the negative impact on the ozone layer in the atmosphere.
- R-410A is freon, which is completely safe for the ozone layer of the earth. The latest generation refrigerant that improves the performance of split systems.
- R-407C is a freon that contains three types of refrigerants. Completely safe for the ozone layer. Most often, it is more rational to use it in overall industrial split systems. The disadvantage of this type of refrigerant is that during operation and freon leakage from the device, lighter components first evaporate. This leads to the fact that the system will have to be filled with freon completely. Partial refueling is excluded. That is why all the refrigerant in the air conditioner will have to be completely removed, and only then a new charge should be made.
