LED lamps "ASD": an overview of the model range + tips for choosing and reviews

LED lamps: how they differ from conventional ones and how to choose the best | apple news. all about mac, iphone, ipad, ios, macos and apple tv

Background, or why we chose asd LED lamps

We asked ourselves the question of energy saving after the overhaul of the apartment. At that time, and this was about 10 years ago, LED lamps only appeared on sale. They could not boast of either price, quality or service life. Therefore, the choice was immediately made in favor of CFLs (compact fluorescent lamps), in which all compactness lies in the size of a luminous tube twisted into a spiral.

Such lamps did not last long, exactly until the end of the warranty period. As they retired, they were replaced by analogous light sources. Once, before the next purchase, the idea came to calculate the feasibility of spending.

LED lamps "ASD": an overview of the model range + tips for choosing and reviews

asd led lamp reviews

A simple calculation of the economic effect gave a striking result: the lamps did not pay back even half of their cost, even after serving the entire warranty period. After such calculations, another burned-out CFL was replaced by an ordinary incandescent lamp. As a result, the electricity bill grew, and we made another attempt to replace the lamps with energy-saving ones. It's time for New Year's discounts, sales and other promotions. So 8 ASD LED lamps were purchased.

Calculations of potential savings were based on the following data:

  • the cost of 1 kWh of energy is 0.06 USD;
  • the cost of one lamp is 1 c.u. or 17 kWh at the prices of that time (2016, subsequently electricity prices only grew).

The following conclusions were drawn: with a saving of 40 W * h, the cost of the lamp pays off in 425 hours of continuous burning, since the lamps should be used in the kitchen, then, according to rough estimates, the average duration of the lamps is 2-3 hours a day.

The cost of each lamp should pay off in 7 months or within the warranty period if the duration of daily operation is less. That is, the economic effect in this case would be quite commensurate with the cost of purchasing a lamp, and, moreover, it could be obtained without reaching the deadlines for operation, as was the case with CFL lamps, but after a few months.

One of the most important characteristics for us, especially when staying in the kitchen, was an acceptable color rendering index, in which all LED lamps are significantly inferior to incandescent lamps. However, this lamp has a CRI>80, i.e. the color rendering characteristic is “very good”.

Advantages of ASD LED lamps: our review

Although the package does not explicitly state that these lamps are pulsation free, comparison with jazzway lamps did not reveal any difference between the two light sources. It was equally comfortable for the eyes to perceive the light of both lamps. Therefore, we think, we can assume that ASD LED lamps, despite the status of "economy class", in their standard series do not have a pulsation.

Illumination or luminous flux of 450 lm can also be attributed to the advantages, since similar lamps of the same power from other manufacturers promise from 350 to 420 lm. In reality, according to the subjective opinion, 4 LED lamps of 5 W each overexposed the 4 incandescent lamps of 45 W that were previously in their place.

The price, which was a guarantee that LED lamps will not only be able to pay off during the warranty period, which will ultimately save the family budget, is also an undoubted advantage.

Disadvantages of asd lamps

A significant drawback, which, however, was not such for us, is the lack of any data on the scattering angle. In our luminaire, the lamps must be installed in such a way that the light flow is scattered, and a smaller scattering angle does not in the least prevent them from fully performing their function.

When using pushbutton switches with LED indicators, low-power LED lamps may “glow” when the light is off. We did not notice this effect in asd lamps.

At the time of writing the review, the lamps had already worked for a year and a half, having paid back their cost 2 times without taking into account the possible cost of incandescent lamps, which, with our unstable electrical networks, we would have changed at least two times. Eyes in artificial light do not get tired, there is no flicker.Also worth mentioning is the good color rendering that ASD LED lamps provide. We cannot confirm the reviews on the quick failure that are on the Internet: although these lamps are positioned as an economy class, they serve us without any problems.

Colorful temperature

The filament produces only light with a yellow tint. LEDs can emit light with a wide range of colors:

  • incandescent lamp (yellow) - 2700 °K;
  • daylight (white) - 4500 ... 6000 °K;
  • cold light with a blue tint - above 6500 °K.

When choosing lamps, it is important to choose the right color rendering, which affects human vision.

  1. Natural light - 4200-5500 °K. It is the most useful for a person. Well suited for working at a computer and reading models F0204 and F3034 with a cold or warm tint. The lamp on light-emitting diodes is durable, economic and steady against mechanical influences. The luminaires are equipped with touch sensors that provide a gradual increase in brightness when turned on and dimming. If an overhead light is required in the office, a powerful LP 600x600 LED panel is well suited. Lighting turns out uniform and soft, works silently, without emitting an ultraviolet.
  2. Daylight - 4000-5000 °K. The greatest contrast between colors is achieved. Suitable for areas such as bathroom, kitchen, basement.
  3. Warm white light - 2700-4200 °K. Used in the living room and bedroom, where it creates a feeling of comfort. Sometimes used to illuminate the dining area.
  4. Cold white light - 5000-6500 °K. Suitable for garages, workshops, kitchens and bathrooms.It maintains a cheerful and energetic mood, but with prolonged exposure it begins to tire.

Power of LED lamps

Now that we have decided on the base and dimensions of the LED lamp, let's consider the key technical parameter - power. The wattage of an LED lamp can be compared to that of other types of lamps using the following simple formulas:

  1. The power of an LED lamp, multiplied by 7-8 times, is equivalent to the power of an incandescent lamp.
  2. The power of an LED lamp multiplied by 2 is equivalent to the power of an energy-saving lamp.

The table below shows the data on the correspondence of the powers of various lamps:

Types and types of LED lamps.

There is no clear classification for LED lamps: products are produced in too many different shapes, colors and configurations.

According to the method of application:

  1. General purpose light sources for lighting apartments and offices. They are characterized by a scattering angle from 20 to 360.
  2. Directional light products. Such light bulbs are called spots. They are used to create highlights or highlight interior areas in a room.
  3. Products of a linear type, similar to the usual fluorescent lamps. They are made in the form of tubes. They are used in technical rooms, offices, shop halls and other spaces where fire safety is important. They create a bright, beautiful backlight that will emphasize the necessary details.

By purpose, LED lamps are divided into:

  1. Products for outdoor use. Manufactured in a dust- and moisture-proof housing.
  2. Products for industrial purposes, utilities. Complemented with an anti-vandal durable case. They are manufactured with special requirements for lighting characteristics: stability, service life, operating conditions.
  3. household lamps. They are characterized by low power, stylish design, electrical and fire safety, luminous flux quality (color rendering index, pulsation coefficient, etc.).

Based on the voltage consumed, three types of lamps are also distinguished:

  1. Powered by 4 V. Low power LEDs that consume from one to 4.5 V.They emit light of different wavelengths from infrared to ultraviolet.
  2. Powered by 12 V. This voltage is safe for humans, so these light sources are suitable for rooms with high humidity. Often produced with pin bases, which complicates the connection process. An additional difficulty may be the need for a special power supply that will reduce the mains voltage to 12 V. Convenient for use by motorists and tourists: they can organize battery-powered lighting.
  3. Powered by 220 V. The most common type. Widely used for household needs.

Plinth types.

In order for LED light sources to fit the already used power supply scheme of houses, they are equipped with screw bases. As an alternative to halogen lamps, lamps with pin bases are produced. The main types are presented in the table.

Conclusion about the lamp ASD A60-STD 11W E27 4000K 990LM

The conclusion is, of course, not clear cut. Judging by the thermal barrier and pulsation, I would definitely use such lamps. But I don’t like it, and oh, how, I don’t like the fact that we didn’t receive the declared equivalent of a 90 W lamp. Instead of the prescribed 990 lm, we got about 700 lm. Quite a big error. As a result, we get a lamp equivalent to a 70-75 W incandescent lamp. Not bad, given the fact that most other lamps frankly do not fall into the declared characteristics at all ...

I will draw one conclusion. Despite the fact that the ASD LED lamp did not pass the light output test review, it turned out to be on top in other parameters. Manufacturers pleased ... Pleased ... And despite the low cost of about 300 rubles, the average price per lamp, you can put a solid three and even advise for use. As general lighting, it will still not be enough, but in the corridors, the bathroom, the nightlights - that's it. And you don't have to worry about health problems.
