Aeration is started in the Topol receiving chamber, and the airlift starts pumping excess activated sludge from the aeration tank in order to fill the stabilizer with it.

Further, in the stabilizer, the activated sludge is separated into large and light fractions. The latter are sent back to the receiving chamber through the overflow hole, while the heavier ones are deposited on the bottom of the septic tank.
