A little about EF couplings
The cheapest option for connecting pipes are EF couplings. This type of connection will be ideal for reduced pressure plastic pipes (which are only supplied in 11.8m pieces) and for main pipelines for transporting gas, oil.
Pipes are connected to fittings by electrofusion welding, which creates a hermetic seam. In the process of such electrofusion welding, the current flows through the heating wire. The material around the wire is melted and the pipe is welded to the fitting.
The electrofusion welding process itself is quite simple, but you must first have the basics:
- Apparatus for electrofusion welding
- Chamfering knife
- Knife for removing the top layer
- Degreaser
- EF clutch.
