How to choose?
Partially, information on how to choose a wall-hung toilet mounting system has already been described. However, I would like to dwell on additional points.
When planning to install a suspended structure, pay attention to the corner installation. It saves space in the bathroom and looks unusual and cozy.
Carefully study the composition and fastening of the frame of this design in order to avoid trouble.

When choosing a wall hung toilet, pay special attention to the drain. To date, there are two ways to flush water
- Horizontal. It is also called direct.As standard, water is supplied from the back of the bowl under pressure, bypasses the entire circumference of the toilet bowl and goes into the drain. Some users complain about the presence of minor but spatter around the structure.
- Circular. This is a reverse flush. Here, water is evenly distributed around the entire perimeter of the bowl, as it enters from several holes. This method allows you to remove all the dirt from the bowl even without the use of additional physical force with a brush in your hands.

To install the entire complex, it is best to contact a specialist in this matter, but if you already decide to replace the plumbing yourself, be guided by a few golden rules.

Pros and cons
Suspended toilets were invented at the end of the 20th century as new models of compact and ergonomic plumbing. At that time, minimalism was very popular - this was reflected in the items of convenience. New models of the toilet are very different from the usual massive sewer devices - they do not burden the room and create a feeling of large space. In addition, most of the mechanism is hidden in the wall, which only emphasizes the diminutiveness of the wall-hung toilet.
A new invention, like any other innovation, has its pros and cons. Some people are willing to put in the effort to add such interesting convenience to their interiors, but there are also many homeowners who prefer conventional devices. To make it easier for you to understand whether a wall-hung toilet is suitable for your home, we will analyze in more detail all its advantages and disadvantages.

First of all, consider the advantages of an innovative product.
- Design.The device looks very original - such a toilet will definitely surprise the guests of your house. Also, an unusual miniature toilet will look great in any bathroom design.
- Minimalism. When installing this plumbing device, most of the sewer pipes and parts of the system are hidden behind a false wall. This technology allows you to remove all unnecessary from the eyes and make the room as comfortable and aesthetic as possible.
- The absence of a leg. The hanging bowl makes cleaning the toilet easier and more convenient, because you no longer have to dodge, cleaning the space behind the toilet. In the case of the new invention, it is only necessary to wipe the floor under the bowl - thanks to the design features, this is quite easy to do.
- The size. By replacing a bulky device with a miniature one, you will free up enough space, making a small bathroom or closet look more spacious.
- Saving. Thanks to the special divided water drain mechanism, you can reduce water consumption. Each drain from the tank is approximately 7 liters of water, and the half-drain system significantly reduces this figure.
- Soundproofing. Since part of the device is hidden in the wall, the tank will make much less noise. If desired, you can also install an additional layer of soundproofing material in the false wall - this will minimize the noise when draining the liquid.

Hanging toilet bowls are of high quality, strong and serve for a very long time, but even they have their drawbacks, we will consider them in more detail.
- Pipe access. The false wall blocks free access to the communication of the sewer system.Sometimes unforeseen situations occur, due to which it is necessary to repair pipes immured in the wall. The only way out of this situation is to completely break the false panel by removing the trim and the partition itself. After the repair, the hole in the wall will have to be re-covered. However, this situation can be avoided by installing a special door or an easily removable panel in advance.
- Price. A wall-hung toilet is not a cheap pleasure, because even the simplest models are most often more expensive than their floor relatives. In addition, the buyer of such a device will have to spend a decent amount of money to install it.
- Mounting. Unlike a conventional toilet, a wall-mounted model requires knowledge and experience to install. Not every master will be able to carefully, correctly and firmly mount the mechanism, so it would be better if professionals take care of the matter.

If you are going to purchase wall-mounted plumbing, carefully consider all the little things and familiarize yourself with all the advantages and disadvantages of the design.
In addition, it is very important to familiarize yourself with the characteristics of the device in order to choose the most suitable model for your home.

Pros and cons
A wall-hung toilet has many advantages. One of the main advantages of this design is the free floor, which greatly simplifies the cleaning process.In addition, the lack of a toilet leg allows you to lay out a solid pattern of tiles on the floor, which significantly changes the perception of the interior. The resulting space also visually increases the area, as the human eye estimates the volume of the room by the unoccupied space of the ceiling and floor. The same effect is created by the concealment of various communications.

The absence of legs allows you to organize a full-fledged "warm" floor. Even the installation of ordinary ceramic tiles turns out to be quite simple, since there is no need to trim them. The minimalistic design looks original and fits well into any interior, from classic to modern. Space on the floor allows you to place brushes, a rug and other necessary equipment without any problems, if the interior design allows it. All these advantages are characteristic for any models, regardless of the cost of the wall structure.

The presence of a false wall creates an additional obstacle to noise, which is especially important in apartments of old buildings. The drain itself and filling the tank with liquid will also turn out to be inaudible
Some suspended models make it possible to save water, as they are equipped with a half-drain system. These designs are reliable, stable and serve for a long time.
If we talk about the shortcomings of such structures, then the main thing is difficult access to communications. If any part of the device breaks down, you will have to dismantle the partition, and then proceed with the repair. And this is considered the best option, because sometimes the functional part of the toilets is immured in the wall, including the water and drain pipes.Despite the fact that the room seems large in size, in fact it becomes smaller. As a rule, the need to build a plasterboard structure or to integrate plumbing into the installation takes at least 15 centimeters of space.

It is impossible to ignore the complexity of the installation of such a design. Even a person who has never done this before is able to install an ordinary toilet bowl, but only a master can handle the suspension system. In addition, if you want or need to replace the toilet, you will have to arrange a full repair in the toilet or bathroom. And wall-mounted toilets are still more expensive than classic floor ones.

Mounting Features
Installing a wall hung toilet in a bathroom is a tricky business. It is easier to entrust it to a plumber, but if you are going to install it yourself, follow the advice of experts:
- Purchase two parts (bowl and installation) from the same manufacturer - this ensures that the technical holes match and simplifies the work.
- Check the availability of fasteners when buying: some models do not have them, you will have to buy separately.
- To hide the inside, a false wall is built, the depth and width of which is determined by the dimensions of the structure.
- The frame is fixed at 4 points on the wall, or 2 on the wall, 2 in the floor. Be sure to use the level - the horizontal and vertical must be clearly maintained.
- Use the templates included with the installation to quickly cut drywall and finishing materials.

Do-it-yourself wall-mounted toilet installation
Installation of a wall hung toilet with installation can be done by hand. To do this, you need to have the necessary tools and develop a clear algorithm of actions.Further trouble-free operation of the entire system will depend on the correct and reliable installation. Do-it-yourself installation of the installation requires a detailed study of the instructions for a particular model, it will not be superfluous to watch a video with master classes and photos.
Installation order
It is very important to follow the sequence of installation work and perform all stages with high quality. Mounting order:
- accurately make all the necessary measurements;
- put markings on the wall;
Be sure to check before installation
- install and fix the installation;
- connect water pipes and sewerage;
- install a toilet.
Installation of the installation is carried out strictly before the start of finishing work. There is no need to rush during installation. It's best to check everything carefully.than to redo the repair in the toilet.
Required Tools
Installation do-it-yourself hanging toilet with installation does not require the purchase of a professional expensive tool. It will be enough elementary tools available in the arsenal of each owner:
- pencil;
- level;
- roulette;
- perforator with a set of drills for concrete;
- open-end wrenches of the appropriate size;
- fum tape;
- sealant.
Mounting the installation
Applying markings for fixing the installation
When the installation site is selected, the installation is purchased, the theory is studied (video and photo), you can proceed with the installation. The first step will be marking. It is on it that the installation will be installed.
- Draw the vertical center line of the installation.
- Mark the distance of the installation from the wall, which depends on the type of sewer connection and the location of the sewer outlet. The gap between the installation and the wall must not be less than 13.5 mm.
- Mark the fixing points for the drain tank. The standard mounting height of the cistern for a wall-mounted toilet bowl is 1000 mm. This size may vary depending on the type and size of the installation.
- Depending on the method of fastening, mark the points on the wall or floor for fastening.
Drawing: frame installation
Other installation options:
- bowl installation height - 400-420 mm;
- release button installation height - 950-1000 mm;
- the protrusion of the sewer pipe above the floor - 200-230 mm;
- play between the tank and the wall (after installing the installation) - 15-20 mm.
Installing the installation
Regardless of the type of installation, fasteners should be given special attention, because the strength of the entire structure will depend on them. According to the pre-applied markings in the wall and floor, holes of the appropriate size are drilled using a perforator. Dowels are inserted into the holes, and then fixing anchors
Installing the installationImportant! If the installation is carried out in a private house with wooden walls and floors, screws are used for fastening. In some cases, additional rigid fasteners from a metal corner are required.
Fixing the installation
- A frame is baited onto the prepared fasteners, first of all to the floor.
- The entire structure is set strictly according to the level in all directions.
- The leveled frame is fixed with plugs.
Toilet selection
Buying a toilet is not a problem now. Their assortment is unrealistically diverse. Modern products look not only like standard white bowls. Their design differs in size, height of the toilet seat, shape, color, control method.You can put square, round, rectangular, oval or even flower-shaped sanitary ware in the interior of a small toilet.

Corner toilet bowl of an unusual round shape
When choosing a toilet, feel free to try out its convenience before buying. Sit on it, check if you feel comfortable. Decide on a model. Perhaps the interior of your toilet does not need a floor-standing version of the toilet, but a hanging one. The priority indicator should be the size of the room, and then an eye is made on the style of finishing the toilet. Floor models are the prerogative of more or less spacious restrooms. In the same place, where there is little space, suspended structures are in favor. Attached to the wall, they free up a significant part of the scarce space. You should not think that suspended plumbing is unstable and of little practical use. Manufacturers guarantee its quality, and voice the load capacity of 400 kg.

Wall hung toilet
Look at the material of manufacture. Toilet bowls of any quality will look equally good in the interior of the toilet, regardless of what they are made of:
porcelain;
stainless steel;
faience;
ceramics;
marble;
cast iron;
plastic.
Each of them is attractive in its own way. If you are not sufficiently aware of the quality characteristics of the material, do not apply to get advice from the seller on this issue. For each buyer, different moments are a priority. Toilet bowls made of the same materials are good wash, from others - more durable, others - please with the price.
Look at the country of origin. There are no obvious outsiders here, but still products of the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Russia, and Italy are considered to be of higher quality.

The toilet bowl can be chosen in any desired color
There are even more exalted options. In the toilet room, a wooden model of a toilet seat may appear, which will evoke memories of a barefoot childhood and rural amenities, or the very throne that will allow you to elevate yourself to the rank of royalty. In the interior of the toilet in a retro style, toilet bowls are offered, with their shape associated with the pots of our ancestors.

Toilet interior in retro style
All this is great and tempting, but an individual order of a toilet bowl will be a real find in the case when you need to install its children's model or an option for a disabled person in the bathroom. Caring manufacturers adapt plumbing to the individual characteristics of this category of consumers. It will be really convenient for them to use toilet bowls of this quality.
Benefits of wall hung toilets
With wall-hung toilets, you can follow new trends from the world of plumbing, replacing bulky models with unsightly details. The bathroom space will be visually enlarged thanks to the hanging toilet, as a free plane will appear on the floor. The territory of the premises will be easier to clean, because the dirt will no longer collect in hard-to-reach areas under the plumbing. Practical WC frame systems allow you to be creative in designing the interior of the room, and also provide you with the opportunity to install the most innovative equipment for personal hygiene procedures. Modern plumbing manufacturers specialize in the production of installation structures for corner mounting, which allow you to use even the most cramped bathroom corners.

The main advantages of hanging toilets:
- lower depth and space saving;
- the best combination of plumbing with small rooms;
- more space for other objects in the room;
- the same convenience as using a standard toilet.
Spacious classic bathroom
Area: 6.2 sq. m
The spacious bathroom with light retro tones is designed in such a way that functional comfort is organically complemented by tactile pleasures.
The interior of the elongated room consists of two zones. The first is an elegant and spacious shower niche, which is designed directly opposite the entrance to the room. Its dimensions and location are determined by the protrusion of ventilation ducts and plumbing. To the left of the entrance, near the end wall, there is a bathtub, on the sides of which there is a toilet bowl and a washbasin built into an elegant cabinet in a classic style. The walls of the room, the outer side of the bathtub are lined with smooth light-colored tiles with a light pattern, the wall behind the font and the end of the shower room are dark, with a wave-like relief. Such a solution not only accentuates the bathing areas, but also complements the space with tactile impressions and deepens it. The warm colors are supported by wood-look floor tiles.

Repair procedure
Any even a small-sized toilet requires the implementation of numerous tasks. In such a small space, a huge amount of communications has been laid. In certain cases, it is impossible to avoid registration act for major repairs works.

So, where to start repairing the toilet? Of course, from the creation of a design, the calculation of the necessary materials. Then you should work in this order:
- removal of old wall and ceiling coverings;
- replacement of sewerage, heating systems, installation of a toilet installation;
- if necessary, replace the old wiring;
- room cleaning;
- preparation of the floor surface, screed, floor arrangement;
- wall decoration;
- toilet installation;
- door leaf installation.
A wall-hung toilet with a microlift is a popular trend
The competition in the market is huge, every manufacturer of bathroom products improves their products by adding attractive solutions that make human life easier in every way, while maintaining a beautiful design. Especially popular is the hanging toilet with a microlift, that is, a smooth lowering of the lid. Today there is a wide range of such sanitary ware, so it remains only to choose the most suitable model for your bathroom. Manufacturers are increasingly abandoning standard standing toilets, because the wall-mounted model has already become very popular.

Today, more and more people prefer wall-hung toilets, as they are characterized by a more modern and elegant design. Such models take up less space, and their tanks are located in the walls, where only the flush button is visible. The wall hung toilet is synonymous with space saving and aesthetic appearance of the whole room. The big advantage of such structures is that it is very easy to clean the floor under them. In addition, suspended sanitary ware can be installed at a higher height, making it suitable for tall people.Wall-mounted toilets are a large selection of models with interesting designs and various shapes. Wall-hung toilets are perfect for modern bathrooms, as you can see by looking at the presented photo gallery.
Do-it-yourself toilet installation
Installing the toilet in the bathroom can be done by hand. First, the old toilet is dismantled. The process goes like this:
Draining water from tank.
Turning off the water supply.
Disconnecting the toilet from the floor
If it is fastened with screws, they must first be unscrewed; if with cement, then it should be carefully broken.
Disconnecting the socket: the corrugation is simply removed, if the socket is cast iron or plastic, then it is disassembled or sawn off. After dismantling the old toilet bowl, preparatory work is carried out: After dismantling the old toilet bowl, preparatory work is carried out:
After dismantling the old toilet bowl, preparatory work is carried out:
- Cleaning the floor from dirt, cement residues, glue, silicone.
- Surface preparation. It is necessary to level the floor if its evenness was damaged during dismantling. Next, you should prepare holes for fastening for a new toilet bowl. Old holes can also be used if they are in good condition, do not crumble and hold the dowels well.
Toilet installation diagram.
After all the work done, they proceed directly to the installation of a new toilet bowl in the bathroom. It can be fastened with screws, cement or epoxy. The most convenient and common way is to use screws and bolts. Rubber gaskets must be placed under the heads. It is necessary to tighten the screws gradually, on one side and the other alternately, as the toilet may crack.It is necessary to install plumbing exactly.
The use of epoxy resin is possible if the floor is perfectly flat. The surface must be cleaned of debris, degreased, then roughened with a corundum stone and degreased again. Next, a solution is prepared in accordance with the instructions, the mixture is applied to the surface with a layer of 4-5 mm. The toilet is tightly pressed against the surface with force and kept in this state for at least 12 hours.
Next, you should act in the following sequence, which is the same for any type of toilet:
- Attaching corrugations of the required size. To do this, the socket is lubricated with sealant and connected to the corrugation.
- Installing the toilet in place and screwing the screws (if this method of fastening is selected).
- Filling the joint between the floor and the toilet leg with silicone. This must be done to prevent water from entering under the base of the plumbing fixture.
- Tank installation. When screwing the fasteners, it is necessary to monitor the evenness of the position of the tank. After installation, it is necessary to check the tightness and serviceability of the drain tank.
- Installation of flush mechanisms.
- Connecting the toilet to the water supply using a flexible hose. The ideal connection option is a reinforced hose with union nuts.
- Checking the tightness of the connection. Turn on the water and make sure there are no leaks.
- Final check of the entire system, its high-quality working condition.
It is also recommended to check the system after 1 hour. This completes the installation of the toilet in the bathroom. And if the plumbing fixture is working properly, then the whole process was carried out correctly and efficiently.
Manufacturing materials
The main materials, from which hanging toilet bowls can be found on the construction market today, have practically remained unchanged in comparison with floor structures. So, for example, when purchasing a sanitary item made of porcelain, you will pay a high price for the quality of this category. Porcelain toilet bowls are famous for their strength, durability and aesthetic function.
Faience, covered with a special protective glaze, practically does not differ from the previous material, except for the price. Such products also have high strength and aesthetic appearance.
But when choosing wall-hung faience toilet bowls, you should pay attention to the absence of chips and cracks on the product, as well as to the manufacturer and its packaging. It is better, of course, to opt for a well-known brand with a good reputation.

There is also a small percentage of ceramic coated toilets. But here the moment is very important that the fragility of the material does not allow it to be used under a load of more than 150-200 kg. Ceramics also does not tolerate mechanical damage and can simply crack at the most inopportune moment.
The original designs of devices for bathrooms made of metal or glass, perhaps, remain design features at exhibitions or in trading floors. They have not yet reached the dwellings of people.

How to fit into the interior?
It is very important to correctly fit the golden plumbing into the interior. The toilet bowl should not look strange, ridiculous in the bathroom, which means that it is necessary to carefully think over the design composition as a whole, to the details
The gilded design will not fit into every style - this must be taken into account.

First of all, you should abandon such an idea if the apartment is small. The golden toilet bowl is a symbol of luxury, wealth, and small areas are simply inappropriate here, as they do not meet the general requirement of the chosen style. If you try to beat such a toilet in a small bathroom, failure is almost guaranteed. Moreover, the chosen style here will in no way save the situation. Limited space will not allow the toilet to take its rightful place in the overall composition.

As for style, there are few options. The first to come to mind are: classic, baroque, rococo, but you can harmoniously place such a thing in more modern variations.
Loft. This industrial style, at first glance, does not seem at all suitable for such a piece of furniture. However, the main concept of the loft is a combination of rough finishes and luxurious details. Golden plumbing can be a real highlight of such a bathroom. Defiantly untreated concrete floor, brick walls emphasize the richness and splendor of furniture and plumbing.

It is worth abandoning such an interior item if your bathroom is made in the style of:
- provence;
- nautical;
- minimalism;
- high tech;
- Scandinavian.

Toilet design with installation
In the interior of a small bathroom, a toilet with an installation is often used. This is a special engineering device with which the attachments in the toilet (toilet, bidet, sink) are attached to the walls, and sometimes additionally to the floor.

If the wall is solid or concrete, you should choose a wall mount. If the walls are not strong, they are fixed to the floor.
Advantages of the installation: it can be placed anywhere, it is not required to ditch the walls or floor.A large amount of space is released due to the lack of visible communications, and cleaning is noticeably easier.
Installations are:
- Frame. They consist of a steel frame, which bears the main load.
- Block. They consist of a flat tank, fasteners, a drain button, which are hidden behind a false wall. The outer part is a floor-standing or wall-mounted toilet bowl.
- Installations can be straight, that is, installed right against the wall, or corner.

How to choose?
Choosing the right hanging toilet will allow you to follow the following recommendations:
- Decide on the installation parameters by measuring the space of the toilet and estimating how its area will change after its installation.
- If you purchase the installation separately from the toilet, make sure they are compatible.
- Choose high-quality models from well-known manufacturers - the hanging model has a higher cost compared to other types of toilet bowls, and its installation is associated with additional effort and finances. It is unlikely that you want a poor-quality toilet to require replacement after a short time.
- After choosing a model, make sure that the parts of the drain mechanism are working, check that all fasteners are present.
- Make sure that the seller can quickly provide failed fasteners or parts of the device. When buying exclusive brands of toilets and complex designs, finding parts will not be easy.
- Make sure the surface of the toilet is level. If there are bends and recesses on it, the cover will not fit tightly to it, it will be deformed and will quickly become unusable. You can check the evenness parameter by attaching a wooden ruler to its different ends (throw it like a bridge from one edge of the rim to the other).If you find a loose fit at one of the ends, refuse to purchase.
- Feel free to test drive the toilets in stores - sit down on it for a few minutes, evaluating the comfort and size.
Stylish examples in the interior
As a rule, the design of the toilet should match the overall style of the apartment or house. As a rule, it is close to classical, hi-tech, European, modern or Provence.
The hanging toilet is compact and allows you to visually increase the space. Such designs are good in "Khrushchev". At the same time, experts recommend adhering to certain recommendations.
Preference should be given to classic white plumbing or light-colored models.
Lighting should be soft, diffused, it is better to use spotlights
When arranging the light, it is important to avoid cold, bright light that creates the feeling of an operating room.

When installing 2 toilets or a toilet with a bidet, they should be placed on the same installation. It is not only convenient, but also attractive in appearance.
- For small spaces, it is better to choose round-shaped toilets. The oval design is a classic for all time.
- The elongated design looks organically in spacious rooms.
- The square shape of the toilet looks unusual, but requires a more thoughtful interior design.
How to install a hanging toilet yourself, see the video below.
Or maybe a bidet?
You can always buy a bidet in pair with the toilet if space allows and you want to diversify the interior of the toilet room. The bidet is installed next to the toilet. It has its obvious advantages in carrying out hygiene procedures.Today, bidets have a number of useful functions: water pressure adjustment, automatic lid mechanism, warm air drying system, the so-called “hair dryer”, water massage, remote control.
To decide which wall-mounted toilet is better to buy, you need to decide on the main selection criteria: get acquainted in detail with the technical characteristics of a particular model, choose the color and shape of the bowl. And, of course, measure the purchase price with your financial capabilities. Then this necessary element of the bathroom will delight its owners for many years with flawless work.
Comparative characteristics
Both types of toilet bowls have advantages and disadvantages.
The advantages of mounted include:
- aesthetic indicators, graceful forms;
- convenience during cleaning indoors and washing the sanitary bowl;
- relief when covering the floor with tiles, which are laid without fitting over the entire area;
- a slight increase in free space in the toilet room;
- the emergence of the possibility of a device in the toilet of a heated floor;
- a special system of water dividers provides better washing of the inner surface of the toilet bowl.
The block method of installing equipment on the walls provides the ability to mount all the necessary elements separately, which also provides an increase in free space. Frame installation requires a little more space for installing plumbing equipment. Suspended models most often have only a horizontal outlet of waste water.
Advantages of the floor option:
- significantly lower cost of equipment and installation work;
- upon purchase, a toilet bowl and a tank are supplied in a complex;
- the bowl has a seat for the tank;
- for floor-standing toilets, an oblique and vertical outlet is added for guaranteed better flushing with less water;
- the fittings inside the tank can be reached at any time during its operation;
- ease of installation and repair;
- due to the larger size of the bowl, the water seal of floor models is of better quality than in mounted types;
- the ability to easily reach communications;
- behind the installed toilet bowl, access to engineering systems is provided (risers, valves, pipes, water meters, a "comb" of a warm floor "without dismantling it).
The main disadvantage of the mounted version is the complexity of installation and repair in an emergency. Requires disassembly and assembly of the box, disassembly and assembly of the installation. The equipment itself and installation and repair work are much more expensive. Placing joints, flanges and couplings in a box closed from visual control will not allow timely detection of a leak, which can lead to flooding of neighbors.
The disadvantage of the floor option can be considered the irrational use of the area of the toilet room and the difficulty of cleaning behind the toilet.
