At the theoretical stage, the contestants were asked to answer 15 questions in the form of tests in writing. They were given ten minutes to complete the task. All spectators and journalists were asked to leave the site, so as not to doubt that no one prompted the participants.

Later, the press service of the TASS championship explained that the questions were formulated in such a way as to test the knowledge of the competitors in all areas of sanitary engineering, including materials science and modern technologies.

Plumbers put marks on the forms, consulting and briefly discussing issues. Some contestants noted that the questions were tricky.

Since 2013, intermediate stages with a social focus have appeared in the competition. Participants do good deeds, each team in their region, plumbers help those in need of plumbing installation (veterans, pensioners, large families, people in difficult life situations, etc.) Sponsors and organizers of the competition provide materials.

The teams with the most points at the end of the intermediate stages advance to the finals.The works of the participants are evaluated by the expert council of the competition, which includes public figures, politicians, journalists, stars, representatives of various departments and ministries. Members of the expert council are posted annually on the official website of the competition.

In 2014, for the first time in the history of the competition, a team with a girl as a captain reached the final. In total, two women have participated in the competition's history.

In 2016, a team from Serbia took part in the competition.

On the eve of the professional holiday of housing and communal services workers, the names of the lucky ones who will continue to fight for the title of the best plumber of the country became known.

The qualifying stages of the All-Russian Championship lasted more than six months. About 100 teams from all over Russia took part in them. Experts from the housing and communal services industry gave points to the contestants and made a decision on the nine finalists.

An uncertain situation has developed with the teams representing the Chelyabinsk region at the championship. Four teams successfully passed the qualifying stages: Installers (Chelyabinsk), Teploservice (Chelyabinsk), MKD-Service 24/7 (Verkhny Ufaley) and Kings of Cellars (Argayashsky District). To determine which of them will go to the final, it was decided to hold an additional stage. During the industrial and educational exhibition-forum "Housing and Public Utilities - 2020" at SURTK, the teams had to correctly answer the questions of the theoretical part and complete a practical task: to assemble a connection node to water supply in the apartment. Viktor Tupikin, Minister of Construction and Infrastructure of the Chelyabinsk Region, came to support the participants and see how the best plumbers in the region work.According to the test results, the Teploservice team, consisting of Mansur Khasanov and Denis Bitkulov, scored the most points.

“It has already become a good tradition to announce the top ten finalists on the eve of the Day of Housing and Public Utilities Workers. Cup of Russia”: we want more competent and professional plumbers to appear in the housing and communal services sector. All-Russian championship “The best plumber. Cup of Russia” is held for the eighth time with the support of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Chelyabinsk Region. The project has become the winner of competitions for grants from the President of the Russian Federation three times. The main goal of the championship is to popularize working specialties, to increase the prestige of the profession “plumbing engineer” that is in demand on the market.

The best plumbers are in Chelyabinsk

According to the results of the competition, the first place was awarded to the Teploservis team from Chelyabinsk (Mansur Khasanov and Denis Bitkulov). In 2017, they took second place in the championship, having installed the heating system the fastest. Mansur told TASS that since 1992 he worked as a welder in the tram and trolleybus department, served the hostel. Then he began to combine the work of a welder with the profession of a plumber. And Denis studied to be an economist, but even while studying at the university he began to earn extra money with Mansur. Since 2005 he has become a professional plumber.

“I went to welders and plumbers because of the housing problem. I received an apartment from the Housing Office while working there. There were plumbers with great experience, they taught me the craft,” said Mansur.

“We took first place today, because we have been working for a long time. We have a well-coordinated team, everyone knows their job.We do not interfere with each other, so we got everything quickly and efficiently. In the work of a plumber, there must be a conveyor!” Denis noted.

According to Mansour, the most important thing in the plumbing profession is diligence. And Denis believes that honesty comes first.

The competition was first held in 2010 in Chelyabinsk. A total of 7 employees from service companies participated. The competition was held in one stage and included professional tests. The main task was to assemble a cast-iron radiator and a model of a thermal unit.

In 2012, the scale of the competition increased, covering participants from other regions of the Chelyabinsk region. Seven installation organizations from Chelyabinsk, Karabash and Satka took part in the competition. The competition was named "The Best Plumber of the Urals". Especially for this event, the "Hymn of the Plumbers of the Urals" was written.

Since 2013, the competition has acquired an all-Russian scale, covering participants from several cities of the Russian Federation at once. In total, 37 teams from Chelyabinsk, Orsk, Karabash, Bishkek, Kopeysk, Satka, Korkino, Kurgan, Snezhinsk, Yekaterinburg, Ufa took part in the competition. There were intermediate distance stages for the preliminary selection of teams, the number of stages increased from one to three. Qualifying rounds run from June to November. In 2013, according to the conditions of the first stage, the participants made manual stands for educational institutions; The 10 teams with the most points according to the results of the qualifying tests advanced to the final.

In 2014, 40 teams from 26 regions of the Russian Federation took part in the competition, there were participants from such cities as Novosibirsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Izhevsk. Before passing to the finals, the participants went through three qualifying stages. In the first stage, it was necessary to tell about yourself, present your team to the jury and fans. In the second stage, plumbers helped those in need to install plumbing. In total, according to the results of the second stage, more than 45 objects were repaired. In the third stage, the participants filmed a training video on the basics of plumbing skills. At the final, the audience was treated to a performance by plumbers, a laser show, a concert and entertainment show program.

In 2015, more than 40 teams from Russia and the CIS countries took part in the competition. Teams of plumbers from Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk, Kurgan, Tyumen, KhMAO, YNAO, Siberian and Volga districts, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Belarus participated. In 2015, as part of the first stage, participants held master classes for children from orphanages, and in the second stage, they provided free assistance to Veterans of the Great Patriotic War. In total, 50 veterans were helped. Andrey Chibis, Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation, personally attended the final competitions on November 22 in Chelyabinsk.

In 2016, at the initiative of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation, he was renamed from “The Best Plumber. Ural Cup" in "The best plumber. Cup of Russia” and officially received an all-Russian scale.In 2016, 85 teams from 46 regions of the Russian Federation participated in the competition. The competition was held in two qualifying stages - plumbing assistance to socially unprotected segments of the population and a master class for children (schools, orphanages, boarding schools). For the first time in history, 30 teams from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Serbia reached the final.
