Glossy ceiling features
Such canvases will cost more than matte counterparts, but the high price is easily offset by an extensive palette of available colors. The glossy surface visually makes the ceiling higher, which allows the use of canvases in low and small rooms. In a small kitchen, this finish looks very appropriate.

Glossy beige stretch ceiling, makes the room more spacious
Although there is competition between matte and glossy ceilings, both types of materials can be combined with each other in the same room.At the moment, you can choose a ready-made version of the ceiling structure with combined canvases or, if possible, think over the design of the ceiling yourself.

Zoning of the working area with a stretch glossy ceiling
On glossy ceilings, various ornaments or photo printing can often be present, but the “starry sky” looks most impressive. This design can be used in any room, for example, in a kitchen combined with a living room.

Photo printing on the surface of the stretch ceiling
Advantages
- A false ceiling with a mirror surface reflects more light, which makes the interior lighter and more airy. Due to the use of light colors in the interior, even a small kitchen will not look too bulky and uncomfortable.
- A glossy canvas can be decorated in any way possible - stickers, patterns, drawings, etc. The patterns and themes of the images depend only on your imagination.
- Compact lamps or LEDs are easily mounted in the ceiling between the panel and the ceiling, shining through it. By placing spotlights around the perimeter of the kitchen or above specific areas, you can achieve an interesting decorative effect.

Flaws
One of the most significant drawbacks is the small width of the canvas, about 2 m. When finishing the ceiling in the kitchen and in any other room, you cannot do without seams.
Many who have decided on glossy stretch ceilings agree that welding is a rather serious minus, affecting not only the complexity of installation, but also the appearance of the ceiling structure.
The seams on the mirror surface are very visible, which can disrupt the overall perception of the integrity of the interior.
The slightest spots and defects are visible on the gloss, which is especially important in kitchen conditions.
It is difficult to decide on the shade of the canvas, since the gloss can “behave” differently depending on the quality of the lighting, the south or north side, etc.
Glossy ceilings do not withstand low temperatures, so they are not suitable for summer cottages, which are usually not heated in winter.

Stretch glossy ceiling in two colors in the interior of the kitchen
Yellow
The yellow ceiling will add brightness to even the most gloomy kitchen. Emotional, positive color will cheer you up at breakfast, and return a charge of vivacity at dinner.
The yellow palette of stretch ceilings begins with a pale sand shade and ends with bright, saturated tones.

Light colors can serve as a universal frame for a kitchen of almost any style and layout.
The bright colors of the ceiling can serve as the main accent of the kitchen, and complement the overall interior.

Despite the brightness, the color does not "press" even in large volumes. Lemon shades fill the kitchen with freshness, especially in combination with white, salad and blue tones. Amber - make comfort warm and "homely".
fabric ceiling
In addition to the film, a special fabric can be used to make a stretch ceiling. Fabric ceilings attract with their environmental friendliness, they also allow the room to breathe.
The main disadvantage of such a coating is the difficulty of washing it during the care process. It is hardly worth using them in the kitchen, where soot and grease from a gas stove will quickly render it unusable.Polymer-impregnated fabric ceilings have higher performance, but are quite expensive and do not have a wide variety of colors. In addition, they are not used in multi-level structures, where the material needs to be given a complex shape.

To finish the kitchen in the apartment, it is quite possible to use stretch ceiling structures. The main thing is to correctly determine which material and color will suit a particular room, and do not forget about the rules for caring for the ceiling.
Lighting
Light in the kitchen, you see, should be as much as possible, and best of all - natural. But even if the work area is located by the window, it will need lighting in the evening or at night. In addition, you probably want to emphasize the beauty of stretch ceilings or other accent details of the kitchen.

There are such lighting options in the kitchen with stretch ceilings:
1. Central, usually represented by a chandelier, less often by a tablet or panel in the middle of the ceiling. In large rooms, such lighting requires additional illumination around the perimeter, otherwise it will be dark in the corners.
2. Spotlights evenly distributed over the plane of the ceiling. A stylish and very economical solution that provides bright light to the necessary areas of the kitchen.
3. Contour lighting with LED strip is also a profitable solution with no less number of combinations and placement methods. LEDs that consume a symbolic amount of energy are placed around the perimeter of the ceiling, along one of the levels, in a headset, mirrors, and in fact in any other object.
As additions, use wall sconces, lamps and swivel spots built into the top bar of the kitchen set.

Don't forget that:
- stretch fabrics are not friendly with high temperatures;
- warm lighting is more suitable for warm colors;
- glossy canvases double the amount of light;
- calculate the amount of artificial lighting needed for the kitchen;
- the smaller the kitchen, the more light it should have.
The main differences between matte and glossy ceilings
Most of the differences between matte and glossy stretch ceilings are easy to hang out based on the lists of advantages and disadvantages of each type of canvas.
However, there are several factors that you should pay special attention to when choosing a ceiling for the kitchen.

Visual differences between matte and glossy ceiling
Differences in care
If we compare the two types of suspended ceilings, the first thing that catches the eye is the difference in care, and this factor is important in a kitchen. Matte ceilings are the easiest to clean - just wipe the surface with a sponge and detergent or use steam if greasy stains remain. The matte cloth is easy to clean, and there will be no streaks left on it after cleaning.

White stretch ceiling with backlight
Glossy canvases are more capricious
Despite the fact that they can be washed, you need to do this very carefully, because if you clean them incorrectly, you can easily get ugly stains.

Glossy two-level ceiling in the kitchen
seams
Most often, glossy canvases are produced in a relatively small size, which is why they have to be joined during installation. On gloss, the seams are very noticeable, which greatly reduces the decorative characteristics of the ceiling. However, modern manufacturers produce canvases up to 5-6 meters wide, so problems with joining canvases and seams in glossy ceilings are a thing of the past.

Multi-level glossy stretch ceilings
Lighting
The choice of the type of canvas greatly affects the quality of lighting in the kitchen and other rooms. Glossy canvases can be produced in a translucent form, which allows the additional use of fluorescent lamps or led strip for creating beautiful ceiling structures. Matte ceilings cannot boast of such quality. The maximum power of built-in lamps should not exceed 35 watts.

Embedded stretch lamps ceiling
Temperature regime
As mentioned above, glossy canvases do not tolerate low temperatures, so they can only be installed in well-heated rooms. During cooking in the kitchen, the temperature is usually much higher than in other rooms, so it does not make much difference which ceiling to use.

Satin stretch ceiling in the kitchen
Design Features
The matte or glossy surface of the ceiling is selected depending on the style of the interior. For multi-level ceiling structures, a glossy canvas looks more spectacular, such a ceiling looks more elegant. Gloss fits perfectly into modern, high-tech and other modern styles. Matte surfaces are best suited for rustic styles and classic interiors.

Color palette
Although glossy ceilings have a much more varied choice of colors, matte finishes retain their brightness longer and do not fade in sunlight. Constantly glaring gloss can irritate the eyes and distract from business, while matte surfaces, on the contrary, absorb light.

Two-level satin stretch ceiling in the interior of the kitchen-living room
It is sometimes difficult to choose a good stretch ceiling for the kitchen, but this task is not so unsolvable. It is difficult to say which type of stretch fabric is better or worse for the kitchen, it all depends on your own preferences and the parameters of the room. Smaller spaces will require glossy surfaces, while matte surfaces are more appropriate in a large kitchen. It is worth remembering that you can successfully combine both types of material, which will allow you to create unique designs on the ceiling.

When choosing panels, be guided primarily by a list of their advantages and disadvantages, not forgetting about alternative finishes, if for one reason or another both types of stretch ceilings do not go. The modern market of finishing materials boasts a huge variety.

Installation
- First, profiles for the ceiling are fixed, they are aluminum and plastic, the former, of course, are more reliable. Profiles are ceiling, universal and wall.
- Fastening methods are harpoon, wedge for film ceiling, clip-on for fabric. The harpoon fastening method allows you to change the canvas.
- After installing the profiles, the room is heated to forty degrees. After fixing the film in parallel, heating it up to 60 degrees.
- When finishing the ceiling with your own hands from fabric, a gun is not needed. The canvas is attached from the center, and fixed at the very end along the edges.
On the video - how to properly install stretch ceilings:
Installation of a stretch ceiling is not only allowed in the kitchen, but also recommended. The main thing is to choose a suitable canvas and monitor its cleanliness. Stretch ceiling with backlight will create comfort while cooking and give pleasure during lunch.A beautiful, reliable and safe ceiling will be installed in a few hours, and it will delight for many years until you decide to change the picture.
How to choose the right color for the ceiling in the kitchen?
Mounting a ceiling in warm colors will make the kitchen cozy with a high ceiling.
If you need to visually enlarge the space, then it is better to choose a canvas of light shades.
When installing a colored ceiling, you can make a contrast between the floor and walls, but this option is not suitable for small kitchens.
This will only reduce the size of the room.
Prints, drawings, murals, stylization can be applied to the stretch fabric, but in small kitchens the drawing should be small.
Experimenting with colors in small kitchens is not worth it, it is better to focus on shades of the same color.
It is important to select stretch ceilings in the kitchen that can create coziness and harmony in the interior. For example, to cheer up, improve digestion and increase appetite, ceilings of bright colors are suitable.
To soothe - calmer shades. The white color of the ceiling is a win-win with dark wall decoration. Black color can be used, but only with sufficient lighting in the kitchen. Red color excites, increases appetite, but quickly gets bored. An indigo ceiling can be installed in the kitchen or living room. It has a calming effect on its owners. Blue color relaxes, leads to drowsiness. Whether the housewives need it in the kitchen, when asked “what to choose”, is up to them to decide.

To stimulate creativity, energy, an emerald, lilac ceiling is suitable, sometimes it can be used in the kitchen.

Each interior requires its own solution, so when choosing a stretch ceiling, it is better to take this factor into account.Combined canvases look good in combination, for example, matte and glossy shades. This is a great option for kitchens with gas stove. Stretch ceilings in the kitchen are beautiful, comfortable and practical, very popular among the people. It remains only a small matter, to choose an acceptable option for yourself and your kitchen.
Stretch ceilings in the kitchen - a good solution?
Stretch ceilings in the kitchen are not just a good solution, but one of the best during renovations. At a cost, this will come out about the same as plasterboard ceilings, only they are made much faster, easier, and there is practically no dust.

Even in ancient Egypt and Rome, the nobility covered ceilings and walls with expensive fabrics. Gradually, this tradition went away, because it is too expensive, but short-lived.
Now, modern technologies have overcome these two disadvantages - a stretch ceiling will serve for about 20 years without problems, if you do not throw knives and scissors at it.
Advantages
The main advantage is that PVC ceilings are great for the kitchen, as they withstand temperature changes and exposure to steam. PVC film is a very wear-resistant material, but there are other advantages:

- hides all the shortcomings of the current ceiling - since when installing a film or fabric from a concrete or wooden ceiling, they retreat a little downward, all its flaws are hidden. The main thing is to pre-treat the surface, removing everything that is being removed, because it will be unpleasant if a piece of old plaster falls off onto the new ceiling and protrudes noticeably. And if the piece is with sharp edges, then a rupture of the canvas may occur;
- the coating is durable - wallpaper, drywall, and whitewash can become damp over time, move away due to exposure to temperature and steam.With a matte PVC ceiling, this will not happen;
- does not absorb odors, moisture, grease - this, again, only applies to PVC ceilings. Fabric stretch ceilings are not the best option for the kitchen;
- easy to install - just a few hours will be enough to install a new ceiling in the kitchen, and there will be practically no dust and dirt;
- the ability to hide communications - above the stretch ceiling, you can hide the wires of the electrical network or the box from the hood;
- it will save you from the flood - the PVC film will collect all the water without spilling a drop on the floor, but it will look scary. Sometimes the canvas is stretched a meter in height. In case of flooding, it is worth calling specialists, they make a small hole in the ceiling, drain all the liquid, dry the canvas, fix it back. Such a decision can greatly save the family budget in the future;
- a wide choice of design - stretch ceilings are made in any colors and designs - from the starry universe to your own portrait (but this is only to order);
- the possibility of combining - stretch ceilings can be combined both with each other (gloss-mat or by color), and with other types of finishes, for example, drywall. This is how truly unique design solutions are obtained;
- evenness and smoothness - since the material of the stretch ceiling is a stretched fabric or film, the canvas is perfectly even.
As you can see, a film stretch ceiling is almost ideal for a kitchen.

Flaws
But it also has a few downsides. They are small enough to refuse the installation of stretch ceilings. Here are the disadvantages of such coverage:
- cannot be installed by yourself. Installing ceilings is a complex but quick procedure involving heating the material with a powerful heat gun.Most often, there is no such tool during normal repairs, and it is not advisable to buy it for the ceiling in one kitchen or apartment, so you have to use the services of specialists;
- takes height. Ceilings are not attached close to the base, but with a margin of about 5 centimeters - due to the thickness of the profile, with which the attachment takes place. For kitchens with very low ceilings, every centimeter is important, so this decision should be abandoned. And with medium and high such problems do not arise;
- the inability to change the light. Holes for installing fixtures are made immediately, and after they cannot be moved. But in the kitchen it is difficult to make redevelopment, so relocation is not required. The main thing is to make point light sources both above the working and dining areas;
- price. The cost of the material starts from 350 rubles per square meter, to this it is also worth adding work, additional payments for corners, slots for lamps, edging (if required). On average, the cost of a meter is 800-1200 rubles.
In general, it is worth understanding that you cannot install stretch ceilings on your own, but you will have to pay for the work of the master. But you can calculate how much money will be spent, if suddenly the neighbors upstairs break the pipe - the choice is obvious.

Pros and cons of stretch ceilings (general)
So, stretch ceiling is fabric or a PVC fabric stretched over a ceiling baguette made of a metal profile.
Vinyl stretch ceiling is made of polyvinyl chloride and looks more like a film. The PVC stretch ceiling is installed using a heat gun.

Glossy ceiling in the kitchen

Matte vinyl stretch ceiling in the kitchen
The fabric stretch ceiling is a thin, but durable, like a tarpaulin, polyester fabric impregnated with polyurethane. Its installation involves pulling on the frame without using a gun.

Fabric ceiling in the kitchen
We have divided the characteristics of stretch ceilings into pros and cons in the following table.
| pros | Minuses |
|---|---|
| Affordable price (PVC films). | |
| Retain water in case of flooding. Vinyl ceilings can hold up to 100 liters of water per 1 sq. m. Drainage of water, as a rule, is carried out through the hole for the lamp. After the flood, the vinyl film is returned to its original state with a heat gun / powerful hair dryer or by natural drying in a few days. But fabric canvases do not have such an advantage and can only hold water for up to 2 days. | Loss of wall height. The minimum height loss will be 4 cm. If you need to install fixtures in the stretch ceiling, then its height is reduced by 5-7 cm. |
| It is possible to hide communications and wiring. So, for example, when installing a stretch ceiling, you can equip the kitchen with spotlights and hang a chandelier right above the table. | The presence of seams on vinyl ceilings (with a large area of the kitchen). Firstly, the seams, although hardly noticeable (their thickness is less than 1 mm), can be seen upon close examination. Secondly, seams are the weak point of vinyl ceilings. In case of poor-quality welding or due to too much tension during installation, the web may tear exactly along the seam (this does not happen often). |
| Installation of stretch ceilings takes 1-4 hours with almost no dirt. | The airtightness of PVC ceilings, together with high humidity, can cause mold. Condensation on pipes, flooding and any leaks will make the airtight ceiling space a favorable environment for the development of fungus and mold. In addition, due to the stretch ceiling, it will not be possible to notice and fix the problem in time. What to do to protect the ceiling from mold, read the second half of the article. |
| Durability. The service life can be more than 50 years, the warranty period is most often 10-15 years. | A small edging (most often plastic) is installed around the perimeter of PVC ceilings. Ideally, it should be covered with a ceiling plinth. |
| Always a neat look, perfectly flat surface. | Bad smell at first. This is often the fault of both fabric and vinyl ceilings. |
| Design variability. PVC stretch ceilings can be matte, glossy, satin (with satin sheen). Any photo printing is also possible, a combination with plasterboard level ceilings. Fabric stretch ceilings are usually matte and come in 20 shades to choose from. | The fabric ceiling will not save you from flooding, but it is much stronger than PVC film. Theoretically, the vinyl canvas can be damaged by a sharp object (for example, a spatula when pasting wallpaper) or a flying champagne cork. Sometimes damage to PVC film occurs due to poor quality material or improper installation. Local repair of stretch ceilings (both fabric and vinyl) is possible only in some cases. |
| Easy care. Vinyl ceilings should be cleaned every 1-2 months with soapy water, a microfiber cloth and a mop.Fabric ceilings should be cleaned only with a dry method (wet method in extreme cases), individual dirt can be easily removed with a damp cloth without any streaks. | |
| Fire safety. Stretch ceilings do not support combustion; in a fire, they roll up into a tube and melt without emitting toxic fumes. | |
| There is no need to level the ceiling. This saves a lot of time and effort. | |
| Stretch ceilings are resistant to temperature extremes, high humidity. |
In this photo you can see the edge along the perimeter of the stretch ceiling and how the film goes around the pipes (a plastic decorative plug is installed around the pipes).

This is what the stretch ceiling looks like when flooded.

Suspended ceilings based on plasterboard
With this type of finish, you can decorate the ceiling of any configuration without the need to level the surface. Due to the absence of plaster and primer costs, the intricate design of plasterboard false ceilings in the kitchen is relatively inexpensive.
The material itself (gypsum board sheets and a frame for fastening) belongs to the budget niche, but the final cost includes installation prices. If you have the skills to work with drywall, it will turn out much cheaper. When mounting structures, it is possible to hide communications and defects, install diode (or other) lighting, as in the photo.
The disadvantage is that it takes time for installation, including plastering and finishing. The painted surface can be repainted, but it is better not to wash. Plasterboard ceiling gives free rein to imagination - any curvilinear structures with environmentally friendly materials (cardboard and gypsum) with diode illumination. The material "breathes" - susceptible to excess moisture.
The design should not be “overloaded” with elements of complex configuration so that the design of plasterboard suspended ceilings in the kitchen does not seem ridiculous. This is not an end in itself, but a means of design vision of the kitchen interior. A delightful lighting design is also available with this ceiling design. In a large dining room, they make a general light (hanging ceiling lamps), point diodes, directional vector devices or an LED strip around the perimeter.

Plasterboard ceilings will fit perfectly into the interior of the kitchen

With the help of the ceiling you can hide internal communications
Kitchen ceiling design can be made economical or expensive, depending on the overall functionality.
- Flat ceiling.
- Two-level design to hide communications.
- Multi-level solution with sophisticated lighting and material combinations including stretch fabric.
After a while, when you want to modernize the structure, it is enough to change the cladding and the lamp, but do not touch the base. The choice of finish will emphasize the choice in favor of country, hi-tech or classic style.
How to choose
You need to choose a ceiling of a color that best fits into your kitchen, will be combined with a set, walls and floor.
Another important aspect when choosing a ceiling is the place of production.
Manufacturer
Russia, France, Germany, China - you can find a ceiling of any manufacturer on the market. But how to choose among this variety?
On the video - how to choose stretch ceilings in the kitchen:
Russia
Ceilings are low cost, ubiquitous. But since Russia has recently begun to manufacture such products, the quality may not always be satisfactory: a foreign smell, uneven color.
France
Ceilings from France are rightfully considered the best. It was there that they first began to engage in the production of such surfaces.
Germany
High quality, variety of colors, matching environmental standards - all this according to an adequate price, designed for Russian consumers with an average income.
China
Materials for finishing the ceiling of Chinese origin, you need it in large stores and it is desirable that you be provided with a guarantee. Goods from China have a lower price, although the texture and patterns can compete with European manufacturers.
Quality
Even if you purchased a well-known brand, it is important to check its quality so as not to run into a fake. It is recommended to buy a canvas in specialized stores
There you will be provided with accompanying documents confirming the conformity of the products to the declared characteristics. ISO certification is a must.
Two-tone options
Fabric stretch ceilings are not sewn together - they are stretched only with a solid canvas. PVC film can be soldered, which designers use everywhere, creating fancy ornaments and combinations. But the two-color options have their own characteristics:
- Combining several colors, it is worth considering that the seams on a matte film will be much more noticeable than on satin - due to the fact that the satin film is slightly thinner and softer due to the lack of texture. The traces of soldering on a glossy canvas are the least noticeable, so it is most often soldered.
- Surcharge for a seam on a single-color film is usually not taken, but the combination of several colors will lead to an increase in the cost of the canvas.This will take into account not only the number of colors, but also the complexity of the solder line.
- It is better not to do a simple even seam line, soldering two colors (if you don’t want to see the flag of your favorite country above your head). Curvilinear seams and geometric patterns look much more interesting, but this design is not suitable for every interior.
- Contrasting combinations have the most beautiful look. Most often, a stretch fabric of saturated color is placed in a white drywall box. In this case, one rule applies: the smaller the area of the film, the brighter and more saturated its shade should be.
If it is planned to tighten the entire area from wall to wall, leaving only a narrow box for spotlights around the perimeter, then it is better to choose pastel shades for the canvas. If in the total mass there are only small inserts of a glossy canvas, then it is better to make them more contrasting.
black and white
The combination of two diametrically opposed colors gives the most outrageous result. Such a ceiling always attracts the eye and leaves no one indifferent.
Such a bold design can be embodied in various options:

each color occupies exactly half of the ceiling area. The most common options are geometry and Yin-Yang;
The plasticity of the film allows you to bring to life almost any design, creating all sorts of curvilinear and geometric patterns. Photo printing can complement the interior. You can choose the color and type of picture for photo printing in special catalogs, or develop an image design yourself.

white-brown
Combining these colors, you need to understand what the result should be in the end.
Dark shades, wenge and dark chocolate will give a strict laconic design.Therefore, such tones suggest the presence of straight lines and geometric patterns.

While a softer shade of milk chocolate or dark caramel is more suitable for curves and smooth patterns.

It is also worth considering the overall style of the interior and features of the kitchen. Too dark tone glossy film will require additional lighting. It is better to wrap a room with low flows in a white film with photo printing in brown tones, but in a spacious kitchen you can make a white box with brown inserts.
Metallic film will create the effect of a rich bronze ceiling, filling the kitchen with a warm golden hue.
red and white
Another bright combination. But such a combination of colors is suitable only for strong, balanced people. In people with an unstable psyche, such an emotional combination of colors can cause attacks of unmotivated aggression and outbursts of anger. Also, the red color is contraindicated for people with heart disease and high blood pressure.

If red on the ceiling is still necessary, then let it play the role of "second violin", leaving the solo part to white.

white gray
Colder neutral combination. In combination with furniture of the same tones, this tandem will create a strict, laconic design. But if you add it with bright accents, then it would seem that cold colors will look completely different.
It is also worth considering the texture and shade of the gray film: light ash gray, dark graphite and metallic silver will look completely different in combination with a white box or film.

So metallic is ideal for high-tech style, light tone will look better in a classic interior, and graphite will organically complement modern.
Which stretch ceiling is better to choose for the kitchen - fabric or PVC?
It is difficult to unambiguously answer the question of which stretch ceiling is better - fabric or PVC film. The choice rests on the personal preferences of the buyer, the budget and the initial data of the premises. We have already indicated some differences between fabric and vinyl ceilings in the table above. Now let's look at them in more detail.
The main advantage of fabric ceilings is that they breathe, which means they do not allow dampness and mold to form in the ceiling space. The second important plus is the seamlessness of large canvases.
Fabric ceilings also have other advantages: they are 15 times stronger, easier to clean (do not attract dust), compatible with all lamps, provide better heat and sound insulation, install faster and tolerate cold well (fabric ceilings can be installed in cottages, summer kitchens).
The main disadvantage of fabric ceilings is water permeability. But there is also good news. Polyester fabric thanks to impregnation with polyurethane retains water resistance for two days. After this time, the polyurethane dissolves and water begins to flow. It turns out that there are 2 days to save the fabric stretch ceiling from flooding. Agree, it's better than nothing. True, the protective impregnation after prolonged contact with water will no longer be restored, and the canvas will most likely require painting.
Another unpleasant feature: within 2-3 years of operation, due to poor-quality installation, the fabric can sit down and then fall out of the baguette or bend the baguette away from the wall, forming a gap between them. The third disadvantage of fabric cloths is a higher price per 1 sq. m (200-250 rubles more than the cost of PVC).And finally, the fourth argument
fabric ceilings are sold only in 20 shades and only with a matte finish.

By the way, the weaving of fabrics from different manufacturers is different.
Whereas PVC ceilings can be matte, glossy, satin, with the effect of mother-of-pearl, metallic or starry sky. The choice of colors is also diverse and even photo printing on PVC film is brighter.

So, with the advantages of PVC ceilings it is clear: water resistance, design variability, low price. And here are a few disadvantages of PVC ceilings, which we did not mention in the table:
- Due to its heaviness, vinyl sheeting may sag slightly after installation (about 1-2 cm).
- PVC ceiling is not compatible with all fixtures and lamps. The power of halogen lamps should be no more than 35 W, incandescent lamps - 60 W. If the light of the chandelier is directed upwards, then its lamps should be at a distance of at least 40–50 cm from the surface of the stretch ceiling. If these rules are neglected, yellow spots or folds may appear near the lamps.
A fabric sheet is preferable if the ceiling in the kitchen has already been affected by mold in the past. We also recommend this type of ceiling for large kitchens and kitchen-living rooms where you want to avoid seams. PVC ceilings are good on a limited budget, if the kitchen is not too big and it is often flooded by neighbors, and also if you want to realize an unusual design idea.
