Popular disguise options
There are several ways to decorate communication. How exactly to hide the gas pipe in the kitchen, the master decides on his own, depending on the available budget, the general interior of the kitchen and his preferences.
Plasterboard box
This is a relatively controversial method by which a gas pipe can be removed from prying eyes. The main requirement for a drywall construction is the ability to remove one of its sides at any time.In addition, in the assembled drywall box, there must be ventilation in the form of a lattice or special perforation. This eliminates the accumulation of gas in one zone in the event of a leak. Subject to these two rules, you can hide the gas pipe with a decorative design.
Before you hide the gas meter in the kitchen in the same way, it must be taken into account that the listed rules apply to this area of \u200b\u200bthe highway.
It is advisable to make a drywall box for a gas pipe in the kitchen from fire-resistant sheets. It's not hard to do the job:
- Marking is applied to the wall.
- A frame made of aluminum profiles is mounted.
- According to the measurements taken, pieces of drywall are cut out and planted on self-tapping screws.
It is desirable to carry out work using the building level so that the box does not have a skew.
Cabinet or hanging furniture
Sometimes the function of decor is perfectly performed by kitchen cabinets. You can make them yourself, order furniture according to given measurements, or simply buy the perfect kitchen set. In this case, two options are possible:
- Arrangement of cabinets in such a way that the gas pipe passes inside them.
- Hanging cabinets on the wall under the pipeline. Due to the considerable depth of the kitchen furniture, the highway at the top will not be visible.
Similarly, you can hide the gas meter from prying eyes without having to move it. With a skillful approach, the cabinet will become a real art object in the kitchen.
If you don’t want to mess with hanging furniture, you can provide a decorative shelf in the upper part of the wall directly under the pipe. Hiding a gas pipeline in this way is easy and also interesting. Pots with chlorophytum or asparagus can subsequently be installed on the shelf.The greenery hangs beautifully with stems down and also perfectly cleans the air in the kitchen.
Painting
You can mask the gas pipe with a simple paint. By showing artistic imagination, you can achieve excellent results. Experienced craftsmen offer several decor options using painting:
- Paint the highway to match the wall decoration in the kitchen. In this case, the pipe will merge with the main color and will not be conspicuous.
- Use a contrasting shade. But it must necessarily overlap with any color in the interior of the kitchen. Then the pipe will be perceived harmoniously.
- If the kitchen uses a classic style or baroque interior, you can paint the gas pipe in gold or silver with an aging effect.
- For lovers of eco-style, the option of painting a gas pipe under wood, stone is perfect. The highway in the form of a birch trunk looks original.
- You can use the option of ethno-staining. It will be appropriate if similar ornaments are already present in the kitchen.
Railing system
This method is suitable if the gas pipe stretches in the area of \u200b\u200bthe kitchen apron. This is more common in apartments of old houses. Railing systems-overlays are a kind of zone in which kitchen utensils are placed on hooks. In this way, you can beat the interior in any style.
Other ways to decorate
You can close the gas pipe in the kitchen in other ways. One of them is artificial plants. Curly stems of plastic flowers can be run through the pipeline. They can also be interesting to decorate the hood. It will turn out a kind of green corner in the working area.
Bamboo stem shaping is another interesting decor option.This will require natural or artificial bamboo material. Its diameter should exceed the cross section of the gas pipe by 8-10 cm. The length of the artificial or natural trunk should be equal to the length of the line that needs to be hidden, hidden.
The decoupage technique also makes it interesting to close up a gas pipe. As a masking material, you can take the usual twine. It is tightly wrapped around the pipe along its entire length. For a more interesting performance, you can later attach artificial citruses and green leaves to the string.
The distance from the house to the object outside the fence
When deciding on the placement of a house on a site, they also take into account the distance of the future building to power lines, gas pipelines, railways and cemeteries. This will protect households from traffic noise and fumes from burial sites, avoid flooding and subsidence of a private building located on excessively wet soil.
To power lines
To protect the population from electric shock due to accidental deformation of wires, security zones are established on both sides of the power line. Within these areas, housing construction, the construction of summer cottages and gardening associations are prohibited. If a house is still within the power line, it is not demolished, but a ban is imposed on reconstruction and capital construction.
The minimum distance from the house to the power line depends on its voltage
Compliance with the security zones of power lines also ensures the safety of the section of the electrical network from fluctuations that occur during the construction of the house. The safe distance from the fence to power lines is determined based on the voltage level and is:
- 35 kV - 15 m;
- 110 kV - 20 m;
- 220 kV - 25 m;
- 500 kV - 30 m;
- 750 kV - 40 m;
- 1150 kV - 55 m.
To the reservoir
When dreaming of a house near a river or a pond, you need to determine whether the acquired land is included in the water protection zone - land adjacent to a water body with special legal protection. The establishment of a special regime is aimed at preventing pollution, silting and salinization of the soil, preserving the wealth of waters and maintaining the natural biocenosis.
The minimum distance from the house to the river depends on the type of reservoir
The construction of a house near a reservoir also carries the risk of its destruction due to placement on softened soil. When laying the foundation, the width of the water protection zone of the river or sea is taken into account. This area is determined by the length of the reservoir and is:
- 10 km - 50 m;
- up to 50 km - 100 m;
- over 50 km - 200 m;
- for the sea - more than 500 m.
To the gas pipe
If an external gas pipeline is located on the site, the distance between it and the house must be at least 2 m. The security distance for underground pipes is determined based on the pressure of the gas supply. Within settlements, as a rule, the pressure in the gas pipeline does not exceed 0.005 MPa. In this case, the foundation is laid at a distance not closer than 2 m from the gas pipe.
In the village, a distance of 2 m is sufficient to a low-pressure gas pipe
Up the road
In different settlements, the distance between the fence and the road varies. In small towns, as a rule, this figure should be at least 3 m. If the local administration allowed to deviate from the standards, it is still better to build a fence away from the passage. This will not only protect residents, but also facilitate access to the site.
Better to stay away from the dust and smells of the road: at least five meters from the fence
Speaking about the distance between the fence and the road, the concepts of "road" and "carriageway" are separated. The first is called a canvas with a pedestrian zone and a roadside, the optimal distance to which is about 3 m. Under the second, a section for the movement of vehicles is considered. If the land plot is located near highways, the distance to the fence should be at least 5 m.
To the cemetery
The standard distance from a cemetery with an area of more than 20 hectares to a residential building is at least 500 m. If the site is located in a village near a small cemetery, the dwelling should be located at a distance of at least 300 m from it. the distance to the dwelling is 50 m.
The minimum distance to the cemetery is determined by its size
To the railroad
The roar and smell from the railway will not please anyone: we are building a house no closer than 100 m
To protect site owners from train noise, the distance from the private sector to the railway should exceed 100 m. but no closer than at 50 m.
We hope that the above recommendations will help you make the right choice of placing a house on your own site. In any case, it is better to make sure that it is correct by discussing your plans with the local administration and neighbors. Author of the text Miroshnikov A.P.
Norms and rules
To determine the required distance from the gas pipe, after the development of a residential building project, citizens of the Russian Federation apply for the appropriate permit (approval) to the local gas distribution organization. For a definite answer, you need to know the type of gas pipeline and what pressure is applied when it is supplied. If data on the type of gasket and on the pressure in the pipes are not available, it is impossible to give an unambiguous answer.
gas distribution station
SNiP 42-01-2002 is one of the logical results of the Federal Law of the Russian Federation "On Technical Regulation" No. 184, adopted in December 2002. In November 2008, Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 858 was adopted, according to which the current sets of rules were developed and approved. This joint venture was approved at the legislative level in an updated version and was named joint venture 62.13330.2011.
The most democratic type of fuel in terms of cost has become widespread and has become a public energy resource. Its widespread use has led to the urgent need for the development of regulatory documents, in which you can find the permitted distances.
Compressor station
Starting from 2010, SNiP registered by Rosstandart:
- are legislative documents, the observance of which is mandatory;
- is checked by supervising organizations designed to ensure the safety of such structures;
- may be the basis for a decision on a lawsuit;
- recognized as a weighty reason for imposing an administrative penalty on the fact of violation.
SP 62.13330.2011 regulates the distances that must be observed depending on the type of laying of the main gas pipeline or its branches and the pressure of liquid fuel in the pipes.
Near residential building
If the gas is supplied in cylinders, only the prescribed fire safety regulations must be observed. More economical and volumetric transportation in pipes provides for differentiated requirements for different types of supplies and pressure levels during their implementation.

Rules for the placement of sewerage wells
Wells
wastewater systems are an important part of the network, enabling
maintenance, cleaning, technology for moving the flow. They are installed at a given
distance apart
The density of the containers depends on the diameter
channel. For example, for a 150 mm line between inspection tanks there should be
35 m. For pipes of 200 and up to 450 mm, the distance between the wells increases to 50
m. These standards are due to the specifics of the work and the parameters of the equipment, which
cleans channels. You can not break them, because because of this will disappear
ability to restore the network.
How
should be a distance from
gas pipeline to the sewer, the norms do not directly indicate. Main
requirements relate to gaps between foundations, site boundaries, drinking
wells or wells, reservoirs, etc. It is believed that threats to
There is no gas pipeline from the sewer side. However, both for the sewerage network and
and for gas communications, sanitary and protective standards apply. They are not
meet technical requirements, which often becomes a source of controversy and
disagreements.
So, for gas pipelines
the security zone is 2 m around the pipe. Sewerage security zone
is 5 m around the pipeline or well. Therefore, the distance from the gas pipeline to
sewerage according to SanPiN standards should be at least 7 m. This can be
provide for the construction of large buildings, but in private construction, perform
such a requirement is not possible. Plot sizes, proximity to other objects and others
factors that interfere with compliance.
It should be taken into account that the security zone of communications increases significantly if there are reservoirs, drinking wells and other water bodies nearby. Therefore, the location of pipelines is the subject of constant controversy. They are allowed, guided by the conditions of the location of the building, the size of the site and other factors. At the same time, the formal right to complain about violations in the laying of networks in the SES services remains, although they do not try too hard to use it.
Sew up the pipe - what does it threaten?
Some owners prefer to ignore all the rules and regulations and do what is most convenient: sew up the gas pipe with siding. We will discuss the opportunities and threats of this option below.
As a rule, this is done by those homeowners who have gas brought into the house from the back side, invisible from the street, and controllers from the gas service rarely come. However, do not forget about the danger of such a decision, because the rules are not written in order to issue fines, but to ensure the safety of your life and health.
Initially, additional investments are not required - the pipe will simply be under the casing.However, if the controllers see this, you will be disconnected from the gas supply until the situation is corrected, and you will have to pay not only for the installation of a gutter in the casing or the transfer of the pipe, but also a fine and reconnection.
Sewing the pipe tightly will take as much time as it takes to sheathe this wall with siding. If later you have to redo everything according to the standards, then time will be added to the installation time to disassemble the lining of the upper half of the wall.
If such a situation arises at the direction of the controller, for the entire period of re-equipment, your house will be cut off from gas supply. In the case of a pipe transfer, it can be a month or more.
If you still decide on this option, take care, if not about following the rules, then at least about your own safety. To do this, do not lay the pipe tightly with insulation, leave at least a small cavity along its entire length.
Make several ventilation holes in the siding at the level of the pipe, and install a gas analyzer in one of the gaps between them - a sensor that can warn you in advance of a leak.
Features of laying gas networks
For,
to correctly set the distance
between the gas pipeline and the sewer, you need to have an idea of the standards
installation of these systems. Special requirements are placed on gas supply systems,
as they are among the most responsible communications. With incorrect
laying lines, gas communications can pose a serious danger
for residents of nearby houses, or people who are nearby.
Pipes
gas supply can be located both in underground routes and in aboveground
position.The first method allows you to hide communications from the surface of the earth,
which can be used for planting plants or for moving equipment.
Construction of residential buildings or other structures above the route for laying gas
highways are prohibited. If on the way
routes there is a drainage line, permissible light gap between pipes
is 0.2 mm. This is the legal requirement.

However, on
practice crossing
gas pipeline and sewerage is rare. First, according to others
standards, the trench should pass under other communications at a depth not
less than 0.5 m. If the pipes are laid deeper than 1.7 m, then the network is carried out above them. By
on this issue, the current standards are not coordinated with each other, which is explained by
different requirements and specifics. If depth and slope are important for sewers,
then safety becomes a basic requirement for gas supply systems. AT
conditions of the regions of Russia, the intersection
gas pipeline with sewerage at the same depth is excluded. The level of soil freezing in winter
much more than 1.5 m (in some regions it is more than 2.5 m), so networks
drainage is always much deeper. In this case, the rules are simply combined
all communications and sewerage networks are included in the general list.
If a
above-ground laying is carried out, no interference with other systems occurs,
so there is no point in considering this option. However, there are other requirements
nature - the highway has its own sanitary zone. According to STO standards
Gazprom 2-2.1-249-2008, the security zone of the outer section of the network occupies 2 m s
either side of the pipe. This means that placing any structures in this
radius is not allowed.
6 tips on how to hide a gas pipe in the kitchen + photo
Any kitchen that uses a gas stove and / or oven must have gas pipes. For many, the fact that these communications are visible causes irritation and a desire to somehow hide them, disguise them, close them - in general, do everything so that they do not rush into the eyes. If you can do almost anything with water and sewer pipes, then with gas pipes everything is somewhat more complicated.
Since the gas is explosive, in the desire to make the interior of the apartment impeccable, it is important not to overstep the boundaries of common sense and not violate existing safety requirements. Let's try to figure out how to hide the gas pipe in the kitchen so that it is both beautiful and safe.
What objects cannot be connected to gas
Federal Law No. 69-FZ allows gasification only of capital buildings. There is no restriction in the order of work - you can pull networks to the site both before the start of building a house, and in the process. But the start of the system is done after the rack is finished.
It will not be possible to connect the following objects to the gas pipeline:
- buildings for household needs, garages, greenhouses, structures without a foundation;
- buildings not included in the USRN;
- apartment, if the whole house is not gasified.
The list of objects is given in Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 549. If your case does not fall under the restrictions, you can safely proceed to the next step.
Legislative requirements for the gas pipeline
There are a number of legal acts that gas workers can refer to in this matter.Among them: building codes and regulations 42-101-2003, 2.04.08-87, 31-02, 2.07.01-89, as well as Safety rules in the gas industry, Rules for the design and safe operation of pressure vessels, Rules use of gas in the national economy and others.
According to these documents, gas pipelines are external and internal, those that are located inside buildings. The first are divided into above-ground (on supports or walls), above-ground (in embankments) and underground. In addition, gas pipelines differ in pressure, depending on the purpose and diameter.
All work on all types of gas equipment, from laying the pipeline to connecting the stove in the house, must be carried out by qualified specialists, certified and authorized to carry out such work.
Only specialists know and will be able to comply with all standards, requirements for all SNiP, as well as the rules of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and electricity supply services.
In order to find out whether you have a gas pipe installed correctly now, whether the correct location will remain after sheathing with siding and where it can be moved, if necessary, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the following requirements of the listed regulatory legal acts:
- gas is supplied to residential buildings in an open way - so that at any time it is possible to assess the condition of the pipe, its prevention, maintenance and repair;
- the gas pipeline can be fixed on support pillars or attached to the wall of the building. Perhaps, in order to solve the problem of decoration and extensions once and for all, it is worth taking it out on supports away from the building.The distance between such supports for each specific case is indicated in SNiP 2.04.12-86;
- the pipe laid along the outer wall must be located at a height of at least 2.2 m from the ground;
- at least 0.2 m must remain from the gas pipeline to the roof;
- it is forbidden to lay pipes closer than 0.5 m from windows and doors, and also to install detachable connections under windows and balconies;
- the valve that shuts off the gas supply must be located no closer than 50 cm from windows and doors horizontally;
- from the wall surface to the pipe, the gap must be at least 6 cm;
- the pipe is fixed to the wall on hook-brackets or clamps with a rubber electrically insulating gasket;
- it is forbidden to fix the pipe to fasteners by welding;
- it is forbidden to lay gas pipes of medium and high pressure along the wall - it is better to bring them underground, with access to the surface immediately before entering the house;
- in a section where there are no footpaths and roadways, the gas pipeline can be located at a height of 35 cm from the ground. However, in practice it is rarely lowered below 2 m, because the pipe must also go high along the wall, and the common distribution pipe is carried out on supports about 2 m high.
Pipes need to be painted only with yellow paint that is resistant to temperature extremes and moisture - for example, oil or alkyd enamel. Under the paint, 2 layers of primer should be applied, and the paint itself is also applied in 2 layers.
Thus, according to the regulations, the answer to the question “is it possible to close gas pipes with siding?” will be negative.
Methods and tricks for masking a gas pipe
When deciding how to hide gas pipes in the kitchen, you can not put the interior and design at the expense of safety issues.In the first place is the life and health of people. As for the possibility of masking the pipeline, there are various options for how to do this within the framework of the current rules and regulations. To hide the highway, you can use one of the methods.
Painting
Painting gas ducts is the simplest solution, since it does not require refurbishment of furniture and expensive welding work.
There are such options for finishing communications so that they look organically in the interior of the kitchen:
- Plain color coating. In most cases, the choice is made in favor of white paint, which is combined with heating risers, windows and corners on their openings. You can choose the paint to match the color of the kitchen, apron or wallpaper.
- Applying an ornament. This is done manually or through a stencil. The shade is chosen according to your taste.
- Wood painting. It is advisable to use this option for decorating rooms in country style. The riser is painted to look like a birch trunk, and branches with leaves and catkins are drawn on the walls.
Railing camouflage
It often happens that after installing furniture, a horizontal pipe passes through the area of \u200b\u200bthe kitchen apron. This problem can be solved by simulating the railing system.
To do this, you need to do the following;
- Remove paint from metal. Polish with fine sandpaper and abrasive paste.
- Coat the steel with several layers of chrome paint until an even and deep color is obtained.
- Fix decorative elements (shelves, gratings, hooks) under the communication.
After filling with kitchen utensils, the design will look solid and organic. It will give the impression that all the elements are hanging on a stainless steel rail.
Pipe laying over furniture
Such a decision is made when replacing gas communications, when the furniture is already suspended, and it is not planned to change it in the near future. In this case, welders place the horizontal part of the run directly above the cabinets, and the vertical sections with the help of inserts are carried out close to the canisters.
A way to decorate a gas pipe, if it is in plain sight, is to install a plastic corner plinth. A gap is left between the cabinets and pipes for the free removal of furniture. When the highway rises above the shelves, a decorative box is superimposed on it to match the color of the walls or facade of the headset.
Placement of pipelines inside furniture
A popular and effective way to mask the line is to lay it inside hanging shelves, cabinets and canisters. The advantage of this solution is the possibility of unhindered access to the highway. To do this, just open the doors and take out the contents. An additional advantage is the ability to hide the gas meter in the kitchen in one of the cabinets.
In order to close communications and appliances, it is necessary to remove the back walls from the shelves, take measurements and make cuts. They should be done in such a way that a gap of at least 10 mm remains between the wood and the metal.
The use of drywall
The question of whether it is possible to close the gas pipe with drywall should be answered positively only if the kitchen box for the gas pipe is equipped with a removable or opening hinged wall. The blind construction is contrary to fire safety regulations.The advantage of the solution is the ability to finish the kitchen gas pipe box in the kitchen with the material that covers the walls.
