Cylinder Cabinet - Installation

We purchased a ready-made steel cabinet for two gas cylinders with a volume of 50 liters. I must say that the commercially available samples are made of thin metal and have poor-quality painting. We had to completely repaint the purchased wardrobe.

To install the cabinet, we prepared a reinforced concrete foundation with grounding. They did this at a blank wall on the north side of the house, at the opposite wall from the entrance and the main facade. We fixed the cabinet on the foundation with dowel-nails, after which we connected the ground. In addition, the cabinet was attached to the wall of the house in order to exclude its deliberate overturning or theft.

Jets for bottled gas

It is necessary to take into account one important point: stoves, originally designed to work on main natural gas, have jets (nozzles) that are not suitable for operation on bottled propane.

The jet is similar to a bolt with a hole in the upper part through which fuel enters the burner. Bottled gas nozzles have a smaller orifice because LPG pressure is higher than that of natural fuels. Therefore, to connect such a stove to a liquefied gas cylinder, you will need to purchase and replace the entire set of jets.

A new set will cost an average of 200 rubles. (the cost depends on the brand of the stove), it can be bought at a gas appliance spare parts store or ordered from the manufacturer.

Do not insulate gas cylinders with anything!

In general, when connecting gas devices with high power, you need to be aware that the gas cylinder has limitations in terms of recoil speed. This means that the liquid fuel is converted into the steam stage gradually. For example, a 50 liter tank can provide about 500 grams of gas in 60 minutes. This is equivalent to a power of 6-7 kW. In the cold season, this figure is halved if the equipment is located outside. In summer, the situation is reversed: the maximum flow rate increases.

Even polymer cylinders need to be recertified half as often as steel cylinders - only once every ten years

Here you can use primitive mathematical rules. If we start from the power of the stove, where 4 burners work at once, then 8 kWh of energy is used in 60 minutes. If you burn 1 kg of gas, you can get 12.8 kWh of energy. The first result must be divided by the second figure, resulting in the amount of "liquid" fuel necessary for the full operation of the stove for an hour. This figure is 0.625 kilograms of gas. Therefore, a 50 liter container with 21 kilograms of gas will be used to run the stove for 33.6 hours. If the power in kg of fuel burned is indicated in the passport of your equipment, then the calculations are greatly simplified.

In the future, everything depends on the intensity of use of the plate. If you often brew aspic, then the degree of consumption will be one, if you are content with only brewing morning coffee, then another.
