After you have studied the instructions, you will need to program the air conditioner yourself, manually selecting the codes prescribed in the column of the manufacturer of your climate equipment.

Next, you will need to check all modes of operation of the air conditioner from the new remote control. If the main functions do not work, then you should try to enter the following code from the table. You may have to repeat this step several times until you find the correct code.

This method differs from the previous one only in that you do not have to manually enter all the codes.

Continuing a series of articles about Rostelecom TV (IPTV from Rostelecom), I decided to dwell on the remote control in more detail. The remote control on the new Rostelecom TV platform is the same for all set-top boxes, like SML-282, like iptv-hd-101 from Promsvyaz.

In principle, this is the right approach - after all, the platform is the same, the functionality is also the same, respectively, and the remote control should be the same. It is more convenient both for subscribers and for technical support.Separately, I note that the remote control turned out to be unusual, but very ergonomic and easy to use. By the way, when developing the concept of the remote control, the developers immediately left the standard menu control through four colored buttons - red, green, yellow and blue, having made their own control scheme.

ON / OFF - turns the air conditioning system on and off.

HEAT - heating option.It helps to bring the room temperature to the set point. Usually it is 30O. On the remote, under the button, the sun will be drawn. The system itself will monitor the state of the temperature - turn off when the set parameter is reached and start working again when the set value falls. This button is present only on those models that operate in heating mode. The air conditioner may have technical restrictions on the use of this mode at sub-zero temperatures outside - from -5o to -15o.

COOL - cooling mode. The minimum mark on the thermometer is 16O. This is the main function button on the remote control. Indicated by the snowflake symbol.

DRY. Its functional significance is the removal of excessive humidity in the room by a slight increase in temperature. Excess moisture in the air at low temperatures leads to dampness, and at high temperatures - to stuffiness. Both phenomena are uncomfortable and cause health problems and, in the long run, with furniture. Therefore, dehumidification using the Dry button is mandatory at the slightest sign of waterlogging.

FAN, FAN SPEED, SPEED – air conditioner blowing speed. With its help, you can change the speed of movement of air flows to smooth, medium intensity and fast. It is included as an additional function in all operating modes of the air conditioning system.

AUTO - enable and maintain automatic mode. The temperature is adjusted at a comfortable level for a person of 22-24 degrees.

SWING, AIR FLOW, AIR DIRECTION.This button allows you to change the position of the curtains and thereby direct the air flow of the set temperature in the required direction.

TEMP with up/down arrows or + and - buttons. Use it to control the temperature. Each press is a step of one degree.

MODE. Mode selection button. By clicking on it, you can choose the mode of operation of the air conditioner that suits you.

TURBO, JET, JET COOL, POWERFUL, HI POWER. Automatically turn on the fan at a speed that will provide the fastest possible cooling.

CLOCK. Shows the set time. It is set according to the temperature arrows.

TIME ON (OFF). Start and stop the air conditioning system by time (check that you have set the Clock time). When setting the on and off times, the last temperature and mode settings are used. Pressing this button again will disable the timer. The time can be adjusted using the temperature arrows.

TIMER. On/off timer. Program your air conditioner in advance for when you need to heat or cool the room. You can set the time when it will turn itself off.

SET. With it, you can set the timer and good sleep mode.

CANCEL. Cancels the timer and good sleep modes.

SETTINGS. These are system settings.

SINGLE USER. Reduces power consumption in COOL mode.

All this information is necessary in order to correctly search for the encoding for subsequent control of the device. As a rule, all old arrangement options do not have modern firmware or an operating system, which is why the combination and subsequent configuration here are somewhat more difficult than with new modern models.

For each type of TV (brand and model), the same connection code will not work, since this password is considered a kind of protection against unauthorized connection and reducing the risk of infection of the TV platform with a virus or malware. How to program a universal remote control without codes?

To find the correct code for the remote control, you must use the automatic scanning system. To do this, we need to follow the following procedure:

Press the green SET button and the TV1 button at the same time, and the red light (indicated by a white arrow) will turn on, which indicates that you are entering the program (as shown in the second image of this block).

The instructions that come with this remote control provide some codes for well-known brands of TVs, modems, DVDs, home theaters, and some other devices.

I have a Japanese ONKYO sound system that didn't come with a remote control, so I used this one. It didn't give me all the features, but at least I don't get up to turn the device on or off, change the station, increase or decrease the volume.

We have already done the first programming step, which consisted of pressing the green button and TV1 (because in this case we are going to set up the TV ... but in the case of another device, we press the button corresponding to the setup button of the other device, and if we have already set up the TV, we can configure another device after it).

Don't forget that for other devices the whole process is done again, i.e. the same encoding process is done from the beginning.It is worth noting that with this method, the codes for the TV and any device can be executed automatically.

As soon as our indicator lights up, we press SET. When you press the button, the indicator starts flashing, which means that it is looking for codes.

Then, press the red (power) button to turn off the TV... (logically, this whole process should have been done with the TV on and with the remote pointed at it).

This whole procedure must be carried out slowly and in compliance with all stages.

After our TV turned off, press the TV1 button to write down the code. Then the indicator stops blinking and goes out, giving a signal that the remote control is configured.

Difference between original and universal remote

The TV remote control, for example, TV Tricolor, is a useless device in itself, it can only be used in conjunction with another device - a television receiver, for which it was created.

The principle of operation of the remote control is based on three actions:

• When you press the button of the device, you mechanically activate a microcircuit in which a certain sequence of electrical impulses is created;
• The LED element of the remote control converts the received command into infrared radiation with a wavelength of 0.75-1.4 microns, and sends a signal to the paired device;
• The TV has a phototransistor that detects this IR signal and converts it into its own electrical impulse, transmits it to its control unit, due to which the command you set is carried out.

The communication method used in remote controls is called PCM, or Pulse Code Modulation. Its peculiarity lies in the fact that each command is assigned a separate 3-bit sequence, for example:

000 - turn off the TV; 001 - select the next channel; 010 - return the previous channel; 011 - increase the volume; 100 - decrease the volume; 111 - turn on the TV, etc.

That is, when you press a button on the remote control, the electronic circuit turns on the IR LED according to a given pattern: "111" - ON, ON, ON, with a clear long signal step, for example, 3 milliseconds. If you have selected the volume button, which has the code 011, then the LED will perform three such actions with a predefined delay: turn off, turn on and turn on again.

There are three different types of remote controls on the market:

• Original;
• Unoriginal;
• Universal.

Original and non-original remote controls are control devices designed for one specific model of technical devices. The only difference is that the first type is produced by the native manufacturing plant, where the TV itself was assembled, and non-original remote controls are produced by different companies under license.

Universal remotes (UPDU) are learning control devices that:

• can be customized;
• Suitable for many TV models;
• Can be used instead of a lost remote control for any technical device.

The universal remote control can be selected in shape, size, color, design, depending on personal preferences. Inside such a device there is a special program and a special code base that allow you to determine the signals from almost any TV.

These devices have an increased number of different settings and settings. The most important advantage of such devices is the function of adding various new brands and models of household devices that are not supported by the UPDU with standard settings. The most expensive models must be configured using a personal computer.

For this, a USB cable is usually included in the kit. Using a PC, it is much easier to customize the button layout for a specific device, as well as to test the functionality of a specific button individually. Universal remotes, which have the function of recognizing an unfamiliar infrared signal, can remember the code of a separate key of a third-party remote control, thanks to the signal emanating from it. They also have an intelligent locking system, and in order to unlock the device, you need to perform a certain action.
