Folk recipes
You can use acids, soda or lemon juice.
acid method
An effective and common way to remove a gel pen from paper is the "acid" method. For it, acids are used: citric and oxalic.
They are able to enter into a chemical reaction with the main substance of the ink, leading to their complete dissolution.
Acids are mixed in equal proportions and a little water is added. The resulting mixture put in place blots, after which they wait 5 minutes and apply a new portion.
To get the best effect, the acid mixture is lightly rubbed onto the paper so that it interacts with the ink as much as possible. Such actions are performed until the mistake completely disappears, after which the mixture is carefully removed and the paper is dried with an iron.
Soda
The method by which our parents removed blots is the use of a mixture consisting of water and ordinary baking soda. The resulting mixture is applied to a paper sheet and left to dry completely, after which the remnants of soda are removed.
This method is good when it is necessary to correct errors in the text, since small particles of soda, penetrating into the fibers of the paper, color it white, and the blots become almost invisible.
A mixture of salt, baking soda and lemon juice
To achieve the best effect, you can use a mixture of salt, soda and lemon juice.
Soda and salt are mixed with each other in equal proportions, after which the mixture is applied to the place of the mistake. Next, carefully add lemon juice, waiting for it to enter into a chemical reaction with soda and salt.
Lemon juice helps to neutralize the paste of soda and salt, which can penetrate deep enough into the fibers of the paper, almost completely eliminating traces of gel ink. To make it convenient to apply lemon juice to the surface of a paper sheet, you can use a medical syringe.
Methods for colored fabrics
Removing a ballpoint pen from colored clothes is also not an easy task. Try one of the tricks that will definitely not ruin the drawing:
- Dilute the baking soda with water to the consistency of clay. Apply a thick layer on the ink stained area (you can rub it in a little) and let it dry completely. Clean off the residue and wash the item. Instead of soda, you can take toothpaste.
- Colored linen, on which an ink trace appeared, can be washed with laundry soap. Rub it a little on the contaminated area, and then wash it (it is better to use a liquid powder). To achieve a visible result, most likely, the actions will have to be repeated more than once.
- 2 tsp glycerin, 3 tsp turpentine and 3 tsp. mix ammonia. Apply the resulting mixture to the stained area. Leave for 2-3 hours, then wash. You can also remove ink by simply soaking a cotton swab in glycerin. Wipe, remove residues with a clean cloth, and then with a damp one.

Nail polish remover or acetone

Using a pipette, a small drop of acetone is applied to the desired area of \u200b\u200bthe paper. Then the ink is gently wiped off with a paper towel. If you need to eliminate a very small mistake, you can use an ordinary toothpick to apply acetone to a sheet of paper.
Acetone is distinguished by its gentle effect on the material of the paper web. It practically does not violate its integrity in the process of removing the ink substance. For this reason, it can be used if it is necessary to remove ink from fairly large areas of the paper web.
To do this, the sheet is completely immersed in the solvent, after which it is dried by placing it between fabric sheets or paper towels. To avoid poisoning with acetone vapor, which quickly evaporates from surfaces, it is necessary to ventilate the room well during the process of removing the ink stain.
It is noteworthy that acetone cannot be used as a solvent in its pure form, since in such a concentration it has rather aggressive properties. Therefore, it is better to use nail polish remover, in which this substance is contained in the safest concentrations for health.
The liquid should be applied as slowly as possible, in small parts. If the first time it is impossible to completely remove the ink blot, it is better to carry out this manipulation again. The price of acetone is from 30 rubles.

Removing stains from different types of fabrics
Thick cotton and linen
Such fabrics withstand the caustic properties of alcohol, acid and even chlorine stain removers.
Start with the most gentle - sour-milk or acetic solvents. In sour milk (kefir, whey), ink stains are soaked for 2-3 hours, in table vinegar - for 5-10 minutes. Then things are washed in the usual way with the addition of powders and bleaches suitable for the type of fabric.
Alcohol solvents are often used to remove ink blots from clothes at home:
- Take ammonia and rubbing alcohol in equal proportions, treat the stain on a dry cloth with the resulting mixture (!), Applying it with a cotton swab or disc. To neutralize strong odors after removing stains, it is recommended to soak the item for 10-15 minutes in a weak vinegar solution (1 tablespoon of table vinegar per 1 liter of water). Then proceed to normal washing.
- To remove persistent and abundant contaminants, ammonia is advised to be mixed with hydrogen peroxide and diluted in warm water (1 tsp of ammonia and peroxide per 1 glass of water).Spots treated with this composition should quickly discolor and whiten, after which they should be immediately washed with laundry soap, rinsed and sent to the laundry.
The choice of products that allow you to remove ink from a white cotton shirt or T-shirt is quite wide.

To remove ink from a pen from clothes made of colored and delicate fabrics, it is advised to take:
- Dairy products are the most gentle and safe way to remove ink from delicate fabrics (silk, wool, organza, chiffon, etc.). Milk, kefir, yogurt or whey should be slightly warmed up and the soiled areas of clothing should be soaked in them for 2-3 hours. Then, if necessary, the stains are additionally washed with soap (without intense friction and pressure) or immediately sent to the wash.
- Universal home stain remover - baking soda. It should be diluted with warm water to the state of a liquid slurry and cover the contaminated areas of the fabric with an even layer. After 20-30 minutes, when the soda dries, it is shaken off, and for the final removal of stains, the traces are wiped with turpentine. It is applied to the remaining traces with a cotton swab, after a few minutes the thing is washed by hand or in a typewriter on a delicate mode.
- Medical alcohol softened with glycerin. The mixture is prepared in a ratio of 5: 2, that is, for 5 tbsp. l. alcohol add 2 tbsp. l. warm glycerin. The composition is applied to the spots with a cotton swab or disc and left for 20-30 minutes.
For delicate fabrics, such as silk underwear or chiffon blouses, use less aggressive stain removers.
Jeans
On light-colored jeans, it is best to rub small ink stains with an old toothbrush lathered with laundry soap or dish detergent, then rinse the cleaned areas from the wrong side under pressure with a stream of warm running water in order to “knock out” all ink and soap suds residues from the fabric structure as much as possible. . If the stain doesn't come out right away, lather it up again and leave it overnight.
It is better to first try to collect large stains with alcohol and (or) acetone, gently cleaning them with a cotton swab from the edges to the center. An alcohol-soaked blot on denim is advised to sprinkle with coarse salt and rub with a brush.
Removing ink from a ballpoint or gel pen from jeans is quite difficult.
Leather
It is advised to remove ink stains from leather clothing and accessories with glycerin or hairspray. Glycerin gently moisten the soiled areas, leave for 10 minutes, and then wipe with a dry cloth.
