Installation rules
Installation operations practically do not require dirty work. The wall mounting method involves the use of hardware connections, the choice of which is determined by the finishing material. It is much more important to comply with the requirements for the location of the device. According to manufacturers, the installation of skirting convectors should be carried out no higher than 20 cm from the level of the floor covering. At the same time, the protrusions on the wall, which are located above the unit, should not exceed it by 15 cm. The rule for the location of furniture and other interior items relative to the heated surfaces also applies to all convectors. As for the connection, unlike high-power heating equipment, which is mostly represented by boiler installations, these devices operate only from a 220 V network. Again, using flush-mounted fittings, the owner of a small apartment can organize integrated heating of all rooms using two or three heaters. Wiring can be fixed in both underground and wall niches.
Dimplex convectors and model ranges
Working in the heating equipment market, the brand has achieved notable success. She manages to create equipment that is not inferior in quality and characteristics to products of more famous world brands. This applies not only to electric fireplaces, but to all other appliances. To date, Dimplex convectors are represented by five model lines. Let's consider them in more detail.
Convectors Dimplex DFB 4W
Before us is one of the simplest lines, devices from which have a simple design.The power of the equipment varies from 500 to 2000 W, the heated area is from 5 to 20 square meters. m. Electronic thermostats are responsible for temperature control here, ensuring accurate compliance with the specified parameters. The units are designed for heating premises of any purpose, including bathrooms - their cases are protected according to the IP 24 standard.
Convectors Dimplex DFB 2W
Before us is a whole series of thin and light convector heaters of reduced height. They are designed to be installed along blank walls, as well as under low windows. In terms of their effectiveness, they are no different from their older counterparts. The power of devices from this line varies from 500 to 1500 W, and their cases are reliably protected from moisture. Scope of application - residential and commercial premises of any purpose.
Convectors Dimplex Comfort 2NC6 4L
This series includes heaters with power from 400 to 2000 W. The cases here are protected according to the IP 20 standard, so it is better not to use them in wet rooms. Control of the set temperature mode is carried out by means of electronic analog thermostats. To disconnect the equipment from the mains, switches are provided that disconnect both wires at once.
The disadvantage of the model range is the high weight of the heaters - for example, a 2 kW model weighs more than 10 kg.
Convectors Dimplex Comfort 2NC6 2L
This model line includes devices with power from 400 to 1500 watts. The equipment is equipped with cabinets of reduced height, so it can be located in a narrow space under high windows.The control is carried out by analog electronic thermostats, protection against overheating is also provided. The devices are designed for use in residential and commercial premises.
Convectors Dimplex Unique 2NC8 4L
Before us is one of the most advanced lines. Here are its benefits:
- Digital control;
- Uniform distribution of heat;
- Possibility of connection via terminal blocks;
- Possibility to connect external control;
- The case protected from moisture.
Power varies from 400 to 2000 watts. Excellent convectors for those who prefer modern economical heating technology.
Convectors Dimplex Unique 2NC8 2L
Before us is an analogue of the model range described above, which is distinguished by an elongated and low shape of the cases. The maximum power of the units is 1500 watts. The whole series has moisture protection and high-precision digital control. These heaters are optimal for living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, basements and many other rooms.
Other lines
Dimplex electric convectors are also available in other series. This is Dimplex Comet 2NC3 - devices with power from 500 to 2000 W with analog control with moisture-proof housings. The devices are characterized by affordable cost and can be used in premises of any purpose. Especially for small-sized premises, ultra-compact convectors Dimplex Small are produced - their power is only 400 W, the power is 300 W, and the dimensions are 240x262x103 mm. Also on sale are plinth modifications with a power of up to 2.5 kW.

Features of skirting convectors

Convectors are considered the best option for heating small apartments. This is due to the fact that they are safe for users, have small dimensions and a presentable design. All these qualities are completely superimposed on skirting models. In modern versions, the plinth electric convector also allows you to regulate the temperature regime with high accuracy - up to 0.1 degrees. The instrument is controlled by a thermostat, which also provides a range of auxiliary options for setting operating parameters.
As already noted, such units cannot be compared in terms of power with larger alternative installations, but this flaw can be compensated for by using several devices at different points in the house. Using a special adapter, the plinth electric convector can be easily connected to a common network of several heaters.
Disadvantages of skirting convectors
Still, the main disadvantage of almost all skirting convectors is still the lack of power, which is due to the size of the equipment and the principle of heating.The very concept of such devices does not allow operation at high powers - this is also explained by safety requirements. One way or another, it is not advisable to use a plinth convector for heating a large room. At the very least, its function cannot provide the requirements for the main sources of heating. Another disadvantage is power consumption. In the general line of electric heaters, this is one of the most economical devices - in any case, manufacturers regularly demonstrate new developments aimed at optimizing operating costs. But when compared with devices operating on gas, water or solid fuel sources, then the financial investments for the maintenance of such equipment will significantly exceed the demands of alternative systems.

Norwegian electric heaters Nobo - one of the most reliable and economical
The principle of operation of the convector: cold air in the lower part of the room, passing through the heating element, increases in volume and rushes up through the outlet grilles. Due to the directed movement of air, the room is heated, and not the walls and windows.An additional heating effect is achieved by heat radiation from the front surface of the panel. The combination of convection and radiation is an ideal heating model, the most comfortable for a person.

Heaters for dank autumn: Ballu Evolution Transformer
We are starting a cycle of short stories about convectors, which in a single apartment will turn a dank autumn into a warm summer. Today our hero is the Ballu Evolution Transformer convector.
How to choose the optimal model?

You should focus on the power potential, form factor, the presence of additional functionality and the adjustment system. Still, technical and operational performance indicators are basic, including power and temperature range.If there are no special requirements for heating, then you can opt for one of the Megador models. The lowest category is the plinth electric convector, the price of which is about 5 thousand rubles. This is a suitable option if you need to provide warmth to a small living room or kitchen. If high demands are placed on the equipment in terms of ergonomics and functionality, then the choice should be made in favor of the Dimplex brand. These systems are easy to operate, offer a new look at the convector control system, and are also safe to use. Noirot products are optimal according to all criteria, but they can be purchased for 15-20 thousand. This is a rather big amount for a small-sized heater, but the user can also count on the durability and reliability of the device.
Types of equipment

Traditional convectors differ in the type of fastening and form factor, however, skirting modifications almost always provide for wall mounting. Therefore, the main separation factor is the type of thermostat, which, by the way, may be completely absent in budget versions. So, control can be carried out through mechanics or electronics. Thermostats of the first type are manually adjusted, but models with such equipment are cheaper. Electronics makes skirting-type convectors more expensive, but adds convenience during operation. Modern devices can even provide for a programmable way of working. Convectors are also classified according to their purpose in terms of the place of use.Manufacturers produce special models for winter gardens, greenhouses, living rooms, bedrooms and children's rooms.

air heat
Water heating convectors are an extensive class of heating equipment that has been used all over the world along with radiators for many decades. They differ significantly from their "radiant" counterparts - both in the principle of operation and in the features of operation. The radiator in the process of work performs two tasks - it heats the air and radiates heat in the form of infrared waves. The convector has a simpler task - it is intended only for heating air.
