Why do you need interlining?
Interlining is a specific non-woven material,
made on the basis of cellulose fibers with a combination of various additives. FROM
on the one hand, this makes it as safe a material as paper, and on the other hand,
the other adds density and durability to it. As a result, such coverage is excellent.
is glued to the wall using a special adhesive for heavy types of wallpaper, while
glue is applied to the wall itself and a sheet can be applied to it immediately, no
problems with smearing on the sheet and a long wait for absorbency. All this
greatly facilitates installation and increases the speed of work. Interlining
does not tear and does not spread from water, under the sheet it is much less likely to form
air bubbles. At the same time, it has good permeability, which means that the wall
continues to breathe. All these excellent qualities of non-woven fabric have been used in
wallpaper industry.
Wear resistance, light resistance and life of wallpaper
No wonder repairs are compared to several fires or floods. When it finally ends (or stops?), we sigh with joy and swear by oath that we will never and never again of our own free will ... That is why we all really want the fruits of our labors, including pasted wallpaper have served us for the longest time. What types of wallpaper have the best wear resistance? Which over the years will not lose the brightness of colors and their original attractiveness?
Paper wallpapers, especially single-layer ones, have recently been in less and less demand, and one of the reasons for this is their insufficient resistance to abrasion, humidity, and exposure to sunlight. Some manufacturers cover their wallpapers with special compositions designed to increase their moisture and light resistance. However, even after such protection, they will not serve you for too long.
Non-woven wallpaper is also not much more resistant to moisture and mechanical stress than paper - in "hard" operating conditions, their top layer quickly becomes unusable.It is usually not necessary to talk about the photosensitivity of interlining, since, as a rule, they do not initially differ in the brightness of colors.
But vinyl wallpaper is not afraid of either the sun, or water, or physical impact. Polymeric coating (with the exception of foamed PVC) has increased strength and resistance to mechanical damage. The film will not be erased even in places of constant contact with furniture or outerwear. Due to the excellent mechanical properties of polyvinyl chloride, wallpaper from it is often pasted in places with the greatest traffic, for example, in hallways. In addition, they are easy to clean, are not afraid of aggressive detergents and do not fade in the sun.
As a quantitative assessment of the "survivability" of various types of wallpaper, their service life, declared by manufacturers, can be used. In the case of paper wallpapers, manufacturers guarantee their flawless operation for 4-5 years. In the case of non-woven wallpaper, this figure increases to 8-10 years. In both cases, the guarantee requires compliance with the prescribed operating conditions, namely protection against moisture and mechanical damage. Vinyl wallpapers have a slightly longer service life - 10-12 years (for a number of wallpapers, more often elite ones, some manufacturers claim a 20-year warranty), but at the same time, operating restrictions are much softer, and there are fewer of them.
Non-woven or vinyl - which wallpaper is better?
Having dealt with the features of each individual material for photo wallpaper, it's time to start comparing them to each other. We have collected the most important criteria for choosing wall finishes. So, which wallpaper is better: non-woven or vinyl?
wear resistance
Few people in the renovation process dream of a new renovation.Usually people are looking forward to when all the finishing, furniture installation, gluing and painting is finally over. That is why the most important criterion for choosing photo wallpapers is their wear resistance and durability.
Here, non-woven fabrics noticeably lose to vinyl ones. Non-woven wallpaper is less resistant to mechanical stress - their top layer is quickly scratched and erased. In addition, the pattern on non-woven wallpaper may lose saturation under the influence of the sun's rays.
Vinyl wall murals are not afraid of ultraviolet radiation and mechanical damage. All this is due to the polymer coating, which forms a protective film on the surface of the canvas.
And, if non-woven wallpaper can last up to 8-10 years, vinyl counterparts do not lose their original appearance up to 12 years (and some up to 20 years).
Safety
Home should be a safe and comfortable place
Therefore, it is important to select all finishing materials taking into account their environmental friendliness. In this case, the advantage for non-woven wallpaper, the basis of which consists of microfiber
It is essentially a derivative of cellulose, which is absolutely safe for human health and the environment.
While low quality vinyl wallpaper can release harmful toxic substances. Of course, in more expensive elite collections, the danger of canvases is reduced to zero. The main thing is to ensure that the canvases have all the necessary quality certificates, as well as comply with sanitary standards and hygiene requirements.
Which wallpaper is easier to glue?
If you are planning to do DIY repairs, it is important to choose wallpapers that are easy to stick. Here, non-woven wallpaper noticeably wins.
Firstly, they are wide enough, which allows you to get fewer joints and get the job done faster. And secondly, during the repair process, you will need to wear glue exclusively on the surface of the wall.
Some vinyl wallpapers also only allow the adhesive to be applied to the surface of the wall. However, there are also canvases where the adhesive solution must be applied both to the wallpaper itself and to the base.
In addition, vinyl photo wallpapers are heavier, which requires a special adhesive composition.
moisture resistance
Vinyl wallpapers non-woven base do not have sufficient hygroscopicity. They deteriorate quickly when exposed to water. It is desirable to glue them in a room with dry air (bedroom, nursery, living room).
So, if the water resistance of the material is important to you, give preference to vinyl photo wallpapers that are not afraid of moisture, dampness, steam.
| Options | Vinyl photo wallpaper | Non-woven murals |
| wear resistance | Resistant to UV, aggressive detergents, mechanical damage | Amenable to the influence of sunlight, less resistant to mechanical stress |
| Environmental friendliness | Cheap low-quality vinyl can release toxic substances | Completely environmentally friendly due to the natural basis of the wallpaper |
| Ease of sticking | Heavy, due to which it is more difficult to stick. In some cases, glue must be applied to both the wallpaper and the wall. | Can be glued independently - glue is applied only to the surface of the walls |
| Care | Can be washed with water and detergents | Dry cleaning |
| moisture resistance | There is | Not |
| Vapor permeability | Not | There is |
| Lifetime | Up to 10 years | Up to 20 years old |
What kind of wallpaper to choose: vinyl or non-woven? After all, each material has its own advantages and disadvantages.There is no single answer to the question of which canvases are better.
It is important to look at the features of the room and the quality of the material itself.

However, we can say with accuracy that non-woven photo wallpapers in the kitchen or in the bathroom are completely inappropriate (unless you want to redo the repair after 1.5-2 years). They are best glued to the living room or bedroom. Vinyl is more versatile, but you need to give preference to high-quality photo wallpapers, the manufacturer of which you trust. Too cheap fabrics of unverified brands can release toxic and allergenic substances.
In all other respects, pay attention to the characteristics that are closer to you and the design of the photo wallpaper that fits perfectly into the interior of the room.
What is the difference?
Since earlier people knew about only one type of wallpaper - paper, no one had questions about which ones to choose, which ones are better, what is the difference, because there was no difference, if you ignore colors and patterns. Paper, of course, is a classic, but you should not limit yourself to it.
The modern industry offers at least two more options - non-woven and vinyl wallpaper.

Vinyl are created on the basis of, respectively, vinyl, and represent two layers - one woven or paper, the second vinyl. Unlike non-woven, they are two-layer.
They are divided into several types.
- Foamed. Rather, they are suitable for non-residential premises, as they are very dense, and their moisture resistance is slightly lower than that of other vinyl wallpapers, but they perfectly hide wall defects.
- Washable.They are especially used in kitchens and bathrooms because of their special resistance to chemical detergents and humidity.
- Silkscreen. In the second, directly vinyl layer, there are silk threads. Such wallpapers are cast with mother-of-pearl, pleasant to the touch and do not fade.
Non-woven differ from vinyl, first of all, in texture - they are single-layer. They are made from natural material, natural cellulose, which makes them more environmentally friendly, and this is perhaps the most significant difference between these two types. They also keep their shape perfectly and hide the unevenness of the walls: if you choose this wallpaper, you will not have to plaster and level the surface before gluing.
It is worth saying that vinyl wallpaper, as a rule, has a wider choice of colors and patterns. They are available literally in all colors and with various patterns, imitate wood, tiles, stones - whatever. Separate stickers for walls made of this material are also produced. If we compare, then non-woven ones are produced mainly in monophonic versions, there are, of course, drawings, but their choice is not so great. Most often, non-woven wallpaper is smooth, while embossed ones are a little more difficult to find. By the way, they can be painted, changing the design in this way.

They can be washed with detergents, they are resistant to getting wet. The method of gluing is extremely simple: like non-woven, they do not require plaster and putty, they can also be painted.
Wallpaper does not absorb dust, which is very important not only for asthmatics, allergy sufferers and families with small children, but also for everyone who cares about their health. However, due to the vinyl layer, airtightness leaves much to be desired.

Alternative
It is worth remembering that the choice is not at all limited to vinyl or non-woven coatings. There are alternative options.
Paper
The most common and popular wall coverings. Many consider this finishing material obsolete, citing several reasons:
- do not differ in an increased level of strength;
- subject to various environmental influences;
- burn out under the influence of sunlight;
- absorb moisture;
- not intended for wet cleaning.
They also have their advantages, including low cost and environmental friendliness. It is recommended to buy such wallpapers either with a modest budget allocated for repairs, or in the absence of small children in the family, who can damage or stain the wallpaper.
Textile
expensive materials
Textile finishes give the walls a sophisticated, classic look. This type requires careful care, they can only be dry cleaned.
It is also worth remembering that if you have no experience in wallpapering and your choice fell on textile finishing materials, then it would be wiser to entrust this work to professionals. Given the cost of one roll, gluing errors are simply unforgivable.
Glass fiber
Fiberglass is woven into the structure of this finishing material, so they received the appropriate name. Thanks to this substance, the effect of a three-dimensional pattern is created on the surface.
The advantages include an increased level of strength and the ability to smooth uneven surfaces. Under the wallpaper, you can hide impressive cracks that are present on the surface of the walls.
Of the minuses - the complexity of gluing and high cost.For this reason, they are mainly used for wall decoration in expensive hotels, shopping and office centers, hospitals.
Liquid
Quite an unusual type of rolled wall coverings. Liquid wallpaper can be easily confused with conventional structural plaster. However, in their consistency and composition, liquid coatings still differ from plaster.
The structure of this coating contains sparkles, fibers and only natural dyes. Sold in the form of a conventional dry powder, which is diluted with warm water before being applied to the walls.
The price of liquid wallpaper has a number of advantages:
- no need to measure the joints;
- create an effective structure;
- surface leveling;
- environmentally friendly;
- have antistatic properties;
- service life - up to 10 years.
The hardening time is about two days.
Cork
Cork has been used as an element of interior decoration for a long time. Previously, only cork tiles were used for wall decoration, but today rolled coatings can also be purchased.
The most important advantage due to which cork coatings are extremely popular is their natural origin. The composition of the roll coating contains a minimum of harmful substances.
Moreover, this material is resistant to mechanical damage, has fire-fighting and moisture-repellent properties, is not subject to pollution and dust settling on its surface.
Cork coatings are able to create an ideal microclimate in the premises. In winter, the cork serves as a heater, and in the summer it keeps the natural coolness in the premises.
In addition, the maintenance of this type of wall covering is quite simple.You can carry out dry or wet cleaning of the walls and use various cleaning products.
Characteristics of vinyl wallpaper
Vinyl wallpapers are synthetic materials. They are made up of two layers. The lower part is made of interlining or paper. The top layer of the canvas, regardless of the type of base, is represented by a PVC film.
It is a plastic made from a chemical reaction. It is a product of oil refining. But this does not mean that vinyl wallpaper is toxic. Subject to the production technology and all standards, you can be sure of their safety. PVC film can be applied by foaming or hot stamping. This affects the performance of the product.
Advantages of finishing material
The main advantage of vinyl wallpaper, regardless of how they are made, is practicality. Such canvases are durable, resistant to mechanical damage and wear.
Many families with children face the problem of painted wallpaper. Luckily, vinyl sheeting is easy to clean. If soap and water does not remove pollution, then soda solution and other folk remedies will come to the rescue.
Vinyl wallpapers are characterized by increased water resistance. They can be cleaned using soapy water or detergents. They are insensitive to chemicals and organic solvents. They can be rubbed with a brush to remove dirt.
Non-woven vinyl wallpapers are distinguished by their ability to withstand deformation. This is especially true for new homes, which can naturally shrink in the first couple of years.
Facing material retains a presentable appearance for a long time. It doesn't fade in the sun.Service life exceeds 10 years.
An important advantage of vinyl wallpapers is their elasticity and flexibility. This simplifies the gluing process. The material, despite its high density, easily bends around bumps and corners. In some places it can be stretched a little if necessary.
Vinyl wallpaper perfectly imitates brick. Their use is much more profitable and easier than surface finishing with natural material. With their help, you can give the room originality.
Vinyl wallpapers are available for sale in a wide range of colors, patterns and textures. There are options that imitate brick, stone, decorative plaster, etc. With the help of such a facing material, it is easy to realize any design decisions.
Disadvantages of vinyl sheet
The main disadvantage of vinyl wallpaper is their inability to pass air and steam. PVC film tightly retains moisture under the surface, which is formed during the temperature difference. Because of this, the walls are often covered with mold and fungus. But such a disadvantage can be dealt with.
Experts recommend treating the walls with a deep penetration primer before cladding with vinyl material. This will prevent the formation and accumulation of condensate and eliminate the likelihood of fungus and mold. The main thing is that the primer is of high quality. It must be applied in a thick layer.
The appearance of mold and fungus under vinyl wallpaper is a common problem. To remove them, you will have to remove the lining and carry out processing with special compounds. It is better to take care of creating the optimal microclimate in the room in advance.
In apartments completely covered with vinyl wallpaper, stale air is often observed.This is due to the density of the PVC layer, which does not allow the walls to breathe. To avoid the appearance of an unpleasant odor, the room should be ventilated as often as possible.
Another disadvantage of vinyl wallpapers is their heavy weight. They create an additional load on the walls. For load-bearing structures, this disadvantage is irrelevant. But it is not recommended to glue vinyl sheets on thin drywall partitions.
An important disadvantage of this type of wallpaper is its non-environmental friendliness. However, they do contain PVC. There is still debate about their toxicity. Fears should be caused by low quality products. On sale there is a facing material made of evaporated polyvinyl chloride. In the process of its production, all harmful components are removed from PVC.
Some people have difficulty sticking vinyl wallpaper. Thick stripes are not customary to dock. Paper-based canvases shrink after drying. As a result, noticeable gaps are formed.
When decorating walls with vinyl wallpaper, overlapping strips should be glued to prevent gaps. Then the docking points are cut with a knife according to the level and all unnecessary is removed
The disadvantages of such a material include low fire resistance. During combustion, PVC releases toxic substances. Therefore, it is not recommended to paste over the walls of a room that is characterized by low fire safety with vinyl wallpaper.
What is better to choose?
When choosing wallpaper for a room, based on the above information, you should make a list of questions, the answers to which will help you make a choice, for example, in which rooms it is better to use vinyl wallpaper, and in which it is absolutely impossible.It is not hard to guess that vinyl wallpaper is really a godsend for rooms with high humidity, kitchens and bathrooms, as they are waterproof. However, vinyl's impermeability and release of some chemicals make it an unsuitable option for bedrooms, and especially children's bedrooms.
If design is important to you, most likely, you will opt for vinyl wallpaper - after all, they will have a wider palette of colors. But the color of non-woven can be corrected with paint, and they can be glued on top of other non-woven wallpaper, which will save both money and nerves, despite the fact that non-woven wallpaper is more expensive. It will also help to change the design of the room in a short time. Vinyl wallpapers are also more resistant - they do not fade, are resistant to getting wet, do not fade, are not afraid of mechanical damage.
Thus, focusing on the properties of each material and the wallpaper made from it, it is not at all difficult to make a choice. After all, the best wallpapers are those that are suitable for the characteristics of your apartment or a particular room.

Stages of gluing a room with vinyl wallpaper
According to professionals, gluing vinyl is as easy as shelling pears, because it does not get wet, does not tear during pasting, and most importantly, does not deform when dried.
It is only important to get acquainted with some of the nuances and even someone who has never glued in his life will be able to cope with vinyl wallpaper.
1. Choose a quality glue
Vinyl wallpapers are quite heavy, which means that in order for them to hold securely on the walls, do not save on glue. The best choice is non-woven or vinyl adhesive.It should be of high quality, and it should be enough to cover the room.
2. Prepare the walls
Pasting with vinyl wallpaper requires the preparation of walls. Remember, this material is applied only to dry, clean and, preferably, primed walls. Therefore, before proceeding directly to pasting, remove the old wallpaper. To do this, spray water on them, let the wallpaper swell for 10 minutes and carefully remove them with a spatula. If there is old paint under the wallpaper, it should also be removed with a spatula.
After that, the wall should be leveled, removing bumps, possible cracks and potholes. To do this, walk on it with plaster, and when the walls become perfectly smooth, let them dry for 3-4 hours.
In the old days, wallpaper was glued to dry plaster. Coarse-grained sand was added to the plaster mortar for better adhesion of the wallpaper to the surface of the walls. Today, wallpaper is glued to ironed walls, and for perfect adhesion, the surface is treated with a primer. A cheaper acrylic primer is also suitable for vinyl wallpaper, but it is better to opt for an alkyd non-woven primer.
3. Start pasting
After covering the floor with newspapers, roll out the wallpaper on top to the required length. You need to roll it face down. This way you won't stain the wallpaper. By the way, you should not cut all the coils at a time so that the canvases do not get dirty. And the spread newspapers should be changed periodically.
Cut the wallpaper to the desired size, and preferably 1-2 cm more than the desired size. The excess will hide under the baseboard, and if the length of the sheet is not enough, it will have to be thrown away.
Consider the fact that some wallpapers need to be selected. In this case, the length should be such that the pattern on the wall matches perfectly.Just in case, number the cut sheets so that there is no confusion during the pasting process, and you can start the process.
Wallpapering should start from the corner or, alternatively, from the window. Please note that not all houses have even walls, and window slopes can also give a slant. Therefore, before sticking the first sheet, use the building level to draw a vertical line from floor to ceiling. It is from her that you start sticking. If you disregard this advice and stick the first sheet unevenly, all the other sheets will mow too!
Having diluted the glue to the desired consistency (the instructions are on the package), apply it to the back of the wallpaper with a brush or roller.
Fold the wallpaper in half, then stand on an elevation (table, stool or stepladder) and attach its upper part to the ceiling plinth. Start smoothing the wallpaper from top to bottom with a plastic spatula. At the same time, smooth the canvas from the middle to the edges to squeeze out the air that has accumulated under the sheet.
Important! In addition to a wallpaper spatula, you can use a roller or a soft, dry cloth. A rag will come in handy in any case, because with its help you can remove the remnants of glue that will protrude along the edges of the wallpaper
If after smoothing there are still bubbles under the wallpaper, pierce them with a needle and release the air by pressing and smoothing with a cloth.
When gluing subsequent wallpaper sheets, make sure that the canvas adjoins the canvas evenly, without overlap. At the same time, do not try to press the sheets strongly against each other. Otherwise, after drying, the wallpaper at the joints may rise up. Wipe off any escaping adhesive in these areas immediately with a rag. And don't be afraid if it hits the surface.After drying, the wallpaper paste will become completely invisible.
4. Completion of works
When you finish pasting the walls, be sure to close all windows, vents and doors so that there are no drafts in the room. Otherwise, the wallpaper may peel off. Literally in a day you will be able to evaluate the results of your work and enjoy the updated room!
How to choose vinyl wallpaper?
When choosing materials for repairs, it is often difficult for us to decide which vinyl wallpaper is better. First you need to decide where exactly you want to make spectacular walls from a fashionable coating.
For the bathroom and kitchen, the choice is unequivocal - it is polyplen. Washable vinyl wallpaper is best chosen by the marking icon, usually a marine symbol: one wave - the canvas is moisture resistant, can be wiped with a damp cloth; two and three are washable; wave and comb - vinyl is washed with a brush (sponge).
If you like plain walls, plan to change the color of the wallpaper as often as possible, or renovate a nursery where a little artist lives, it is better to buy embossed foam rolls for painting.
The covering for bedrooms should be chosen "breathable", and this is vinyl wallpaper on non-woven fabric. The paper base does not allow air to pass through, so silk-screen printing and heavy vinyl are best left for corridors and halls.
To decide which vinyl wallpaper is better, you can also navigate by smell. Be sure to smell the chosen canvas - in no case should the roll smell like acetone. Another dangerous signal is if the top layer is oily to the touch. Proper vinyl should be dry, like textured vinyl.
When planning repairs, many people ask themselves one more question - is it better to choose non-woven or vinyl wallpaper for the interior? Each of these varieties has its own advantages: vinyl is very durable, has a wide selection of colors and patterns, and is easy to clean. But interlining is just as durable, allows the walls to breathe, is used for painting - up to 12 layers of paint can be applied to the surface pasted over with it. Non-woven wallpaper is also very easy to glue: the solution needs to be applied only to the wall, air bubbles do not form under the light canvas. After drying, the wallpaper does not change shape, so they are recommended for repairs in "freshly built" houses, which usually shrink. The choice of whether to purchase vinyl or non-woven wallpaper for renovation also depends on the type of room. Interlining does not tolerate moisture well, so smooth vinyl should be preferred in the bathroom or in the kitchen.
Vinyl wallpaper is a huge selection of wall coverings of different structure, color and even composition. Buying the perfect decoration for each of the rooms in your home is not difficult, you just have to carefully study the features of each type of vinyl sheet and choose the right one.
In what rooms is it better to use vinyl, non-woven and paper wallpaper
When choosing wallpaper, you should focus not only on the preferences of the owner, but also on the purpose of the room, the walls of which are planned to be pasted over.
Hallway
The hallway walls are the most vulnerable. Coming in from the street, we bring dust and dirt with us, undressing, often touching the walls of our outerwear, taking off our shoes, often leaning on the walls to maintain balance.We leave a lot of items in the corridor - bags, skis, bicycles, rollers - the neighborhood with them is not always without a trace for the wallpaper.
Not every wall covering can withstand such harsh operating conditions. Therefore, wallpaper for the hallway must be durable, resistant to abrasion, allowing intensive wet cleaning. Hot embossed vinyl wallpaper satisfies this strict requirement. But wallpaper made of foamed vinyl for the hallway will not work: their porous structure will become clogged with dirt. Paper and non-woven for the corridor are also not suitable, unless, of course, you want to update them regularly.
Kitchen
The kitchen is another problem area. Constant fluctuations in temperature, steam swirling over boiling pots, soot, splashes flying in different directions every now and then ... In addition, the kitchen is considered a place of high traffic, which means that the likelihood that someone will accidentally tear or accidentally scratch the wallpaper is higher here, than in living quarters.
When looking for a wall covering for such a room, first of all, you should pay attention to hard vinyl wallpaper. They are quite durable, and, in addition, they are easily removed from dirt, common in the kitchen.
It is highly undesirable to paste over the kitchen with paper or non-woven wallpaper, or foamed vinyl wallpaper - they simply cannot withstand such operating conditions and will quickly become unusable.
Living room
When choosing wallpaper for the living room, you can finally forget about practicality and think about beauty. You can give preference to foamed vinyl or silk-screen printing, or you can glue cheaper, but no less aesthetically attractive paper wallpapers.And if you want something exclusive, opt for non-woven wallpaper for painting.
Bedroom
We spend a lot of time in the bedroom, gaining strength before a new working day, so the choice of wallpaper for this room must be approached with all responsibility. The surface of the walls here is not subjected to mechanical stress, which means that there is no special need for durable wallpaper. Give preference to eco-friendly, as close to natural materials as possible - paper or non-woven.
Children's
The main requirement for materials for finishing a children's room is harmlessness. The kid spends most of his time here, and all the micro-excretions of toxic and allergenic substances exuded by low-quality wallpaper will go to him. But he still definitely wants to taste this beauty. An ideal option for a nursery would be child-safe paper or non-woven wallpaper.
Moreover, it is better to give preference to the first. The kid will inevitably paint them with felt-tip pens, coat them with plasticine, and check the coating for strength. And if simple and inexpensive wallpapers suffer from such "creativity", parents will treat this without unnecessary tragedy. And when the child grows up, you and him will choose something more refined.
Vinyl wallpaper by manufacturing method

Topped with foamed vinyl
These wallpapers are easily recognizable by their voluminous and loose structure, abundance of colors, patterns, sparkles.
pros
- A dense and lush canvas hides cracks, visually hides bulges and pits on the walls. Plus, under artificial lighting, a play of light is created on the foam layer. That is why such wallpapers are chosen for bedrooms or living rooms, or cabinets and kitchens combined with living rooms.
- "Foamed vinyl" performs well on wooden walls, as well as plywood or fiberboard partitions. It is sometimes glued to such coatings in order to zone the room.
- Some types of structural wallpaper can be painted (there must be a corresponding marking on the packaging). Most often, a water-based emulsion is used for this, and a primer is applied twice before painting.
- You can paint, experimenting with color, as much as you like, until the relief begins to disappear. Although, sometimes, someone strives just for such an effect.

Hot Stamping Vinyl
There are several types of wallpapers in this category.
Heavy vinyl
Of all the types of wall paintings, these are the thickest. They have interesting, deep shades, complex patterns. They have good light and moisture resistance, partially "correct" the unevenness of the walls.
However, they are difficult to glue. In addition, they do not pass air well, and this often leads to the appearance of fungus and mold on the walls. The last problem can be avoided if you purchase wallpaper with micropores, which will allow the room to "breathe".
Compact vinyl
A real field for creativity: a wide selection of interesting colors, even with imitation of different surfaces (wood, textile, brick). The wallpaper is durable, mechanical stress can withstand steadfastly. Retain a presentable appearance for many years.

With silkscreen effect
Perhaps the most interesting type of vinyl canvases is with the effect of silk-screen printing. They are made both on paper and on non-woven fabric, weaving silk threads along the very top. Wallpapers can be embossed, smooth, discreet or, conversely, very bright, saturated colors, but they always look noble and expensive.

Wallpaper with chemical embossing
Factories use compounds that treat part of the surface of the vinyl. The resulting canvases are highly resistant to ultraviolet radiation and getting wet.
Since they are not afraid of moisture, they can not only be gently wiped, but also washed.

Washable wallpaper covered with polyfilm
They can have both a smooth and foamed top layer. Suitable for rooms where cleaning is required every day or where liquids often get on the walls, such as kitchens, nurseries or bathrooms.
Polyplen is a type of polyvinyl chloride. Washable wallpaper consists of several layers of PVC with the addition of various substances. Among them are plasticizers, pigments, stabilizers.

hard vinyl
It is also called evaporated, since during the production process all harmful components are removed from PVC, which evaporate during operation. Such wallpapers are hypoallergenic and environmentally friendly, they can be safely glued in children's rooms. At the same time, they are quite durable, as they have three layers of paper in the base.

What is the difference between vinyl wallpaper and non-woven wallpaper?
The main difference between these types of wallpaper is the coating.
Vinyl wallpapers are a two-layer coating with an upper decorative layer consisting of polyvinyl chloride and a non-woven base, while non-woven ones are homogeneous from a dense fabric.
Non-woven wallpaper is less resistant to mechanical stress, they are afraid of moisture, absorb odors and are more expensive than vinyl. Therefore, the latter are often chosen for their strength and ease of care.
However, walls covered with non-woven wallpaper, for example, in the living room, look luxurious. They are safe, environmentally friendly, do not emit toxic fumes during combustion and are resistant to ultraviolet radiation.
When choosing wallpaper for rooms in the house, several factors should be correlated:
- the presence of high humidity;
- the need to periodically clean from contamination;
- the surface of the wall is fairly flat.
What is vinyl?
Vinyl or PVC film is a thermoplastic
polymer, extremely resistant to various external influences. Actually myself
Polyvinyl chloride is a colorless plastic with good resistance to
action of acids, alkalis and other solvents. When making wallpaper, it can
serve only as the front side, never acts as the wrong side, since in fact it is
a thin film that covers any substrate. As an underside, it can
act as paper, and (most often) interlining.
The polymer is applied to the surface
in the form of a continuous film by hot stamping (hard vinyl, inhibited
etc.), or foam balls (foamed vinyl) with a variety of
textures, and then between these balls the base can be seen. Often
Sold white to be painted. Foamed vinyl wallpapers are not very
highly resistant to wear, they can be gently washed, but they are not suitable for
corridors, or even more so the kitchen, as any traces of impact are easily visible on them.
A significant advantage is their low price.
